So I ran errands in a coworkers mazda hatchback thing today.

It is AMAZING how GUTLESS most pedestrian cars are. You floor it and they just get louder. Do I even start on the brakes. Okay, gonna have to slow down, better start braking now now now, push harder. Jesus!

 

lol its just stupid... he calls me the worst child over the stupidest **** and i could be out with all my friends getting smashed and smoking

 

Ok, so, my bmw is pretty much my daily driver and at around 215whp its no rocket ship by any means. But when I take out the neon or my moms old *** 325xi.... OMG I STAND on the throttle all freaking day, however the brakes are decent. If you think your car sees redline shifts often, I invite you to take a ride with me in Leon. (my neon)

 

****!! terrible day. Just found out i have a bad bearing on the front passenger side. Not only is this gonna eat up $150 dollars of mine plus alignment (which i needed anyway) but it means i cant take it to north park sunday. this must have just happened or i really just didnt notice it. but this is just my luck since ive been waiting for this weekend for a while! i may just have to borrow a car. Am i right thou, driving... especially autox would be a stupid decision with a bad wheel bearing?

Josh, I like you so I'm gonna put this delicately. You're like 16 and have some of the coolest **** imaginable. You have a seemingly loving family and a father who cares enough about your image and education to discipline you.

I know at your age one weekend being grounded is crazy and outrageous but dude there's people with real ****ing problems on here. So before mother ****ing your father to a board of grown men, consider some of these gentlemen have kids. You got an Evo x and you're in highschool, you should be pulling Jonas brothers type tail and having fun.

My blazing fast Corolla has a whopping 100whp if I'm lucky. It really is horror going from ~400whp to ~100whp.

But one gets 40mpg and the other gets 20mpg if I'm lucky.

Well said. I'd have killed for an EVO, technically a Supra, when I was in High School. But I realized my parents did me a favor by not buying me a nice car. I was able to get a great education and job. Now I can afford the car of my dreams and take great pride in it.

Just be thankful to your parents and not give them grief over this.

On a lighter note, we spent all day in the laboratory working on some fine machines down at j&s. Canexican showed up and did some 1/4 mile pulls on the dyno and his buddies z06 made a good pass too. Sketchy, but exciting none the less.

So this evening we get shawns blue Evo 8 on the rollers. Jason tunes this STOCK turbo 8, with cams, exhaust, fmic, and 1000cc injectors on e85 to 395awhp/428tq. It was unreal watching this thing pull so hard.

Shawns upgrading the throttle body and 400awhp on stock snail is in the future

 

Speaking of first cars, the first car that was really mine was given to me by my great uncle my first year of college. '87 Fifth Avenue baby. White w/ huge blue leather seats and a blue vinyl top, wire wheel hubcaps, the works! It was probably worth about $500, but it really was the most comfortable car in the world. I got pulled over so many times b/c cops just figured I must be some old pimp or drugdealer or something, only to find a skinny scared white kid...I floored it coming off an exit in Greensburg (with its oh so powerful 318) and a piston went right into the bottom of the hood! I don't even remember what I did with it after that come to think of it...

 

hrm damn, all i did was change over my brake pads and rotors.

i was feeling all productive until i read that.

put the girodisc magic pads on some fresh cut OE rotors. test drive went well, did a few 60 - 0's the try to set them in. the first couple brake jabs were a little dicey, but they seem to be settling in well. they definitely don't have the hard initial bite of some other pads that i have used, but they stop quite well. i tripped the abs more than once.

time permitting this weekend i would like to get them out and tested on the autocross course, but it remains to be seen if there will be time for that.

 

hey is anyone going to the NHSCC AutoX driver's school tomorrow in north park?

registrations is at 8:30am, and the cost is $25.

i am probably going to head out as a "student" to give the car a shakedown unless they're real short on instructors.
