I removed a few lawn chairs from it the other day. First time it's been touched since shootout

First weekend of September I'm getting with my body guy to go over where we are financially so we can finish the rest of the repairs. The roof is coming off and I think I'm just going to splurge and go with a carbon roof. I've been working a ton of overtime and I feel I should treat myself.

I've already got a budget set aside for the minor block repairs and a deal is worked out so that can start soon. While that's taking place I'll refresh the trans and clutch and it should be done well before next season so I can just get in it and drive.

Some other things on the list are refreshing the 6262, putting a Sparktech cdi on the car and if budget allows replacing my 82k mile oe wheel bearings with some curt brown units. I really want a 9.5 out of the car and as close to 155 as I can get with full interior, wipers, ps and all working windows and door locks.

Nice!

Im really trying to hold myself back from getting the CF roof as well as some other things. I really want to get the car repainted if I did get get the roof. Just the roof/installation will be over $2000 im sure.

Does the tranny grind or anything? My damn built tranny possibly bent the 3rd gear shift fork from hard shifting to 3rd... damn thing has less than 2k miles on clutch and tranny(street driving).

Racecar problems I tell ya lol...

Yeah it started grinding into 3rd in my qualification pass at shootout.

I'll do the roof myself and save $500.

Do it grind going from 2nd to 3rd? what about downshifting from 4th to 3rd?

I received a rough estimate of $800 to install the roof. Im pretty sure we could install it since it is mainly just drill out rivets and install roof with new ones, but at this point I just want the car to make power and drive straight with no problems

Grinds into 3rd from anywhere at any speed. I'm sure the input shaft is bent as well. Its not a big deal.

Doing the roof isnt bad if you have a method to drilling spot welds whether it be a spot weld bit or how I do them. I have a glass guy as well so that really cuts the cost down.

When do you plan to get one and install it? I want to see some pics of installation lol. Im still at the bottom of the fence about getting one. I would also do the hood CF so everything matches, then paint... which woulf probably cost near $5k total.

With a baby, work and house shopping/selling I haven't had much time for the internet. Back in May at the Idrc race my car was shot for Dsport and it just hit stands last week!

Here's one of the shots Richard took that made it into the feature.

I never really had a goal of getting a feature but it's a pretty awesome feeling and the Dsport guys were great to work with. Go grab a copy and support the guys that cover the DSM/EVO Shootout and a lot of Evo and 4g63 powered cars!

Thanks guys, I was up in that area this past weekend. It appears they've torn that building down. Kinda weird thinking that the photo with my car might be the last photo ever taken of that building.

I'm still planning on it. Kinda had a period of a lack of interest with the car. Once the body shop is done fixing the doors and rear 1/4 ill start on the roof. Currently in the process of selling our house (hopefully) and buying another. I'll have to get whatever upgrades done to the house first then start back in on the car. Once the roof starts I'll be posting back in here with updates.
