Wheatley's 6262 build
It might suck that the car is a little nicked up, but in all reality Wheatley came out of this unscathed and that's the main positive.

Power washed it today, didn't help much but after getting it on my lift I was pleasantly surprised at how little damage was done underneath. I got an estimate back today for 6 grand. That's not fixing the fmic or tires. I'm glad to live another day and enjoy all the good things in life.
The goal is to have it "presentable" at the shootout. We'll see how motivated I feel. With this heat and long hours at work I haven't been real eager to work in the garage.

Good luck with the rebuild keep your head up and stay motivated it will all be worth it when its done.
2 questions why would you take your Evo to Mexico SMH. I live 50 miles from the border in AZ and wont even take my $800 DD civic near that place. Secondly, what ran you off the road a jet fighter cause their isnt anything on the streets their that could catch your EVO

Thanks everyone. I still can't fully understand how I came out unhurt and how the car faired as good as it did.
The last few weeks have been very busy with an 8 month old, 56+ hours a week at work and trying to get the car taken care of.
A few weeks ago I took it to a buddies frame rack, nothing fancy but it checked out in every location we could get the tram into. That alone was a huge relief.
Last week I did a clt to see why it was eating water the last night it was running. No indications other than the poor leak down in cylinder 4 but that was present last year. I went ahead and did a cooling system pressure check and it passed as well. Finally with great hesitation I pulled the head. The head gaskets are expensive and I'm broke as hell right now so I didn't want to pull it without knowing for sure. It had been pushing past the gasket in a few places. There was light indications that the piston had touched the head as well in cylinder 4. I opened the head chamber up a little and switched to the evo 9 gasket.
The next day I inspected the Magnus serviceable oil filter and found size able bearing material. I pulled the rod bearings and even though they will be replaced are not the culprits. I think the over rev issue I'd been having with my 2 step combined with revving higher than Marco advised to get through the traps hurt a main bearing. At this point it's too late to pull it apart.
Saturday I took it down to check the alignment. Everything had moved a lot but was all able to be put back in spec.
Today a new oem bumper and hood were ordered as well as a new set of quik latches and air damn hardware.
