Tsidrift1: Evo IX Project.
yea if your up for a job im down to throw some cash your way but the holes i have are from my carbon air ducts their small rivet holes way smaller than a dime...you paint too?
Aaahhhh, fresh paint on the hood as well! No more rock chips. Gonna wetsand and buff it out this afternoon. It surprisingly matches very well. I didnt blend onto the fender at all.

Exactly! lol The main reason for the front bumper, was cause i shaved the license plates bracket holes. My hood was nicked up pretty good though. I never noticed it much, till I buffed the car out earlier this year, it really brought out all the niks etc.
Bad news today. Went to fire the car up. It fired right up, however, it was spilling oil out from somewhere. Dug into it and found this! How the hell does this happen? It was snapped clean off. As soon as I tried to pull it out of the head, it came out like this.

So I finally got off my *** to do a little work on the car.
To do list:
Drill into valve cover for catchcan fitting
Pull oil filter housing off to port oil relief valve.
So first was the valve cover. I needed to largen the original hole at the breather to a 1/2 for my new nipple. I was originally gonna do this without removing baffles, but I suddenly became uncomfortable with doing it while the baffles were still in there. Too many shavings I wouldnt be able to see I thought.
So I then decided to remove the baffles. I removed the one that I would be drilling above for now. It wasnt too bad. I used a flat chisel and a hammer and just popped the tops of the rivets off. Baffle came off, nice and easy. Then I started by drilling a small pilot hole into the rivets. I then went to my final size of 11/64 to drill out and tap. Once they were all drilled, tapped them out with a 5mmx.80 tap. I still havnt gotten to the bolts yet, but I am gonna use the red loctite and a lock washer, dont think they will be going anywhere.

So then it was on to drill the big hole for the new nipple for my catchcan setup. I started by tracing a 45/64 hole around the original with the top of the original hole meeting the top of my new hole to be drilled. I then drilled on center of the new 45/64 trace with a 1/4 bit. From there I moved to a 1/2 and then finally for the final size of the 45/64 and it turned out just as I had planned. The top of the bit was just shaving the top of where the old hole was. I then tapped it out with the 1/2-14npt tap and threaded in my new breather nippler. Much larger than the original haha.

Then it was on to the next thing. My crazy high oil pressure. Ever since I got this 2.3L in, I have had crazy high oil pressure. Luckily, I havnt seen any damage due to the high pressure. I would run down the interstate doing 70 at 94psi or so.
So back to my old dsm days, I ported the oil pressure relief valve on the filter housing. I am hoping this brings my pressure down to a comfortable level. I do run 20-50, so I know that can cause a boost in higher pressure, especially in the cooler weather. We shall see shortly!
I followed what R/T Ernie did with his, just rectangled the hole a bit.

So thats it for now, Oh I forgot to mention, the rpf1s are gone, so I am on the hunt for a new set of wheels again. Im thinking some 18x9.5 Nt03's since I have my hoosier/fd setup for the track now, might wanna drive on the street with some 18s again.
