You sure the motor won't need more ventilation than that little breather filter?

Otherwise, looks good!

my evo has a 5/8 (-10 AN) connector.. if i feel we need to open the ventilation more on his valve cover ill help him do it.

that breather was there from before.. i just put it back on. that's his own stuff from before.

we used the stock waterpump for the car and the Maperformance waterpump spacer.. it worked great. you put the 4g63 gasket to the side of the gasket that touches the waterpump and the 4g64 gasket to the block side.

we also used stock cam gears and stock timing belt. if you want i can post pic of the timing marks also..

but the notch on the cams goes 1 tooth after the original timing marks on the valve cover.

If you don't wanna use a spacer then your only option is to pay English Racing 250 bucks for theirs.

having direct experience with a good well machined spacer like MAPS i can say that modifying the waterpump is a waste of $.

the spacer is no where near the waterpump blades.. and there's no way the spacer is going to flex and hit the inner part of the blade..

so until i see that happen on this car, then i will not recommend avoiding spacers.

...The issue lies in the fact that the pump is spaced out too far, thus shredding serpentine belts.

Not really, I shreaded my serpentine belt with a stock water pump. Has alot to do with how tight the damn thing is on the car. In my case I didn't do it origionally, but whoever did made it so the aftermarket pully get warped and ended up snapping it.

show me a link on the forum to a shredded serp belt from a spacer.

the only pic I've ever seen pertaining to the spacer being bad was the grind marks on the spacer cover before.

i highly doubt 1mm if that, is going to effect the belt.. i know 700whp+ cars running spacers with no issues.

that said.. now that you said that ill thoroughly inspect his belt to see if i see anything.

I'm using the same adapter as you are. I'm just speaking in terms of the overall longevity of the belt. Have I seen one shredded on an Evo? No. Have I had cars in which my accessory pullies were out of line a few mm (adapter and extra gasket) shred serpentine belts because of it? Yes.

Not hatin as I run the same thing. Just curious to get your thoughts on the matter.
