Thanks, mang!
Honestly, the fix for the shortblock is currently unknown.
Basically due to the angle of the rods, the pistons are smacking into the sides of the cylinders when they go up, and the mark is when the piston starts going back down.
I'm going to run this guy and see how she holds up.
Yeah, it's the back of the cylinder walls that I'm concerned about.
I'm just going to run the short block and see how she holds up, because MAP said it was normal.
I'm going to keep a very close eye on leak down and compression numbers. The motor will be very well taken care of and will not be making a lot of power, so if it fails early on we'll know that there really was a problem.
And yeahp, I just had to do the S3s
.
I'll show you guys how well they work down low and you'll all pick up a set
.
Brunsie, how's the Scoobaru?

Haha Got the S3's like I thought you would
Sorry about your motor and that is strange. My pistons looked better than that after 10+k on stock motor pushing 420whp
Ignore the missing pistons, rod and hole
Like the wire loom idea and I think I should do that when I do a new slimmed down harness

Oh, and the 70mm Extreme Port and Kiggly HLA will be shipped out from Curt on Friday
.
Gotta order my FullBlown TB and I'll have everything I need.
This IX turbo is going to be screaming.

do you hear piston slap on startup or anything? i just think it looks a little too shiny; I mean you hardly put any miles on it.
Good luck if you are going to go with it, and just give it hell. I'd like to see you do a back to back between a ported TB and the full blown... thats the only spot i didn't go huge on my build. i just have a buschur TB.

.I'm just going to run it and give it hell. If it fails we'll all know who was actually right, seeing as everything is built/being lubricated properly and I'll be at ~400whp for awhile.
Unfortunately I sold my 65mm to purchase the Full Blown so I won't really be doing any testing. However, you'll see by the graphs how everything is working
If I don't crack 400whp on pump I'll shed a little tear.
I hope it all works out for you. Have you checked with other 2.4 guys to see if they've had the same problem?
Thanks, mang!

Not very many as he had a main bearing failure. We've built hundreds of 4g63 shortblocks and never experienced such a failure, but we built the shortblock so it must be our fault
Lack of oiling and/or oil contamination would be my suggestion in that scenario, but we never did get to see his engine to dig into it.

And also, Chris, I apologize for being overly skeptical about this wear, however, seeing as I'm a broke college student that dropped ample money (to me) on a motor, I'm overly cautions about every aspect of my build, as I really don't have the budget to fix anything big at this point.
It's more or less common knowledge that .0035" is quite tight, especially for higher HP levels, but I'm trusting what you're saying in that the wear is normal and I'm going to run the motor.
Like I've said above, I only use the best oil, Wix Filters, my car doesn't leak a drop, my inline FP filter is always cleaned, I'm running a Kiggly HLA, and I've nearly crashed my car because I keep such a close eye on my Oil Pressure.
My new head is mint, I'm using a Cosworth Cosmetic HG, and I'll be keeping a very close eye on my compression and leak down numbers.
Thus, if I notice something is up with the motor, we'll know about it and can easily rule out oil starvation/contamination, unless I get a bad batch of Brad Penn 10w30 or my oil pump fails.

Yeah, I've checked with many others. It's 70 30. 70% say the wear is abnormal and 30% say they experienced the same wear, but after 20K miles, as I haven't seen anyone else who opened up their motor in such few miles.

I spelled it wrong you SOB
.
COMETIC
And, the only reason I got S3s is because MAP gives me good prices and I sold my S2s for a nice chunk of cash
.
Same reason I got the FullBlown TB....I sold my 65mm for nearly what the FullBlown costs.
Same reason why I built my car. I sold the stuff that was on my car for over 2/3 the cost of the new stuff
.

I wasn't referring to your situation sir, I was referring to Toxic-evo who will most certainly be replying shortly with his thoughts on how we assembled his engine incorrectly.
