Omni installed and setup correctly. Confirmed slow boost with a log this morning. Not hitting 19psi until 4000rpm.

Ordered a set of eBay t-bolt clamps this morning. Step 1.

Check the preload on the wastegate, thats the most common problem if you dont have any leaks and your BOV is working like it should.

Already done. I've done 5 full turns and have worked down half a turn at a time until creep was gone. Wastegate might be shot. It's on my list of things to check.

Got my eBay T bolt clamps in today. They look to be decent quality. I hesitated to order them at all because I knew I 'd get new clamps when I upgraded intercooler piping. Oh well. Going on ASAP.

T-bolts are on. Found and fixed a couple leaks after the install. LICP had a leak where the pipe is a little deformed. Probably time to replace the LICP.

Have a little oil leak, possibly from the pan or rear main seal. That's annoying because I installed a brand new seal. Hopefully it's just the pan but I doubt I'm that lucky.

Also found that my passenger's front axle has a small puncture in the inner boot. Time to replace that.

CV boot ordered and should be on soon.

Also ordered front lower ball joint boots. Current boots are in bad shape.

Stock boost lines on the way. I want to rule out the MBC.

Also ordered a rebuild kit and will probably order a new turbine wheel.

R&Rd the axle today. Easy enough.

Made a small adjustment to the gap on my AC compressor, too. I think it was actually a little too small. Opened it up just a hair with a different spacer.

Glad you mentioned the AC compressor gap, I am battling intermittent engagement and I suspect my air gap has become too large. What is the best way to go about shimming it, can this be done in the car? Great work so far keep it up!

Yes! You can totally do it on the car. Just jack it up a bit. I use a pair of vice grips to hold the outer plate still. 14mm wrench for the bolt. Just use a feeler gauge to see what your gap is currently. I believe the manual gives a value of .3-.5mm. Don't quote me on that. Mine was too big the first time I checked it. I changed the shim. Then it was a little small. I should be right in there, now, but I'm still having issues. A bit bummed about that.

It was not a good weekend for the Evo. Pulled the center section for a rebuild. Everything seemed fine, but I rebuilt it anyway. My hope was to find something obvious, no luck.

I went ahead and pulled the exhaust housing and O2 housing, too. Broke 2 studs from the manifold to turbo connection and one on the O2 housing. Ugh. They were new bolts and hardly have 2k on them. I also found that my GrimmSpeed multi-layer mani to turbo gasket was now warped. Really odd.

I feel like my flappers may have been leaking. There is a lot of black in the wastegate port that looks like slow sputtering exhaust.

I'm now on the search for a new exhaust housing. Anyone have a 10.5 they want to sell?

Does you AC work at all? When my evo had AC issues, it turned out that I just needed more freon. I just got one of the AC refiill cans from the auto parts store and the AC worked right after.

Yeah dude when you lightly tap the outside of the clutch it will engage and work fine, and then intermittently the clutch will disengage. I think I will be able to reshim it and I'll be in good shape. Thanks!

Bane of my existence...

You can see that, for one, the gasket has warped. GrimmSpeed is sending me one for free.

Those 2 bolts are not coming out. Also snapped one on the O2 sensor housing side.

I had the same thing happen to me. If you have enough gripping space, I got vice grips on them (hard enough to make your hands ring when it closes) and rocked the stud back and forwards. Very long process, get about 1mm forward then back about 4. over and over and over and.. you get the idea.

Took me about an hour per stud and it naffs the threads so will need to run a tap through after.

The housing is trash. Flapper is letting a lot of air by.

I'm picking up a 10.5 housing later this week. Updates soon!

Needs 2 threads heli-coiled. Luckily I have a kit from my last housing.
