Small updates.

Installed the AGP FMIC today. I just took a photo comparing it vs OEM. I figured most people have seen installed FMIC's at this point so why bother...



Started installing the Radium surge tank in the car. Next is running the lines, wiring and also wiring the fuel pump controller. Going to do that next weekend.

AGP sure does make some awesome stuff. Awesome guys to work with. Very glad they're local to me.

 

At some point I'm sure I'll have a photo of the front of the car. It really looks just like every FMIC on a Evo 10.

More progress today on the surge tank install.

Man, it took a lot of readjusting of the hoses to get everything to flow well. The lines are really not very bendy and it felt like it was hard to find a routing for each one that wouldn't put much stress on either side of the hose.

Not really happy on the fuel tank side. Everything hose and fitting feels like it's competing with each other and what the heck was radium thinking making the feed fitting this? It's under a bit of stress this way. I think I might purchase a metal fitting and extend it out to the side a bit so it's not going over the return plastic fitting.

This whole thing is taking longer than I thought it would, but I'm trying to take my time and do everything right.

 

Well, the good news is.... I have it all installed and the car turned on and ran.

The bad news is.... I have a leak in the worst place ever. The bottom of the surge tank, not from large o-ring lid but I'm assuming one of the small o-rings on one of the bolts at the bottom. So I have to take all the lines off again, and the base. I'm kicking myself for not checking those bottom bolts before I assembled everything. I figured they where tight from Radium. Ugh.

The other bad news is..... with the Wally 450 in the surge tank at 100% power, the car almost pegs the fuel pressure gauge at 100psi, at idle. :-X I don't even want to know what it would be in boost. With the Wally 450 at approx 20% power via the fuel pump controller, the car idles at around 38-39 psi.

So now I am kicking myself for not drilling that damn return orifice in the fuel pump assembly when I had it all out... double ugh.

and gaw damn is the wally 450 loud as **** at 100% power.....

 

Sorry about the rest, but I will comment that my W450 is more quiet than my W255 ever was.

 

Yea I can believe that in the OEM fuel tank but in the surge tank its loud as hell at full power. haha Which is one of the big reasons I bought the fuel pump controller.

yea it's loud but the sound output is cut down drastically when the rear seats go back in.

i know what you mean about the lines. they arent very compliant and due to only 1 side having a swivel, it's tough to get them to the way you want. i managed to get my lines to sit nicely but it took some adjusting and bending. i'll see if i can snag a picture. although that single 90* fitting is stupid. mine worked out cause i added the fuel filter but it should have been another 180*.


also, i'm drilled to 7/64s with no issue running to low fuel light no bars and a beyond, BUT note that im running 100% power on the pump so the pressure is higher which might make the siphon system work better. maybe start a bit less with the drilling if you do it since you have the controller.

 

Very nice build. Great pictures and descriptions. Cant wait to see what you do next, but simple will probably turn into complex build
