razorlab's simple build(s)
I have a spare evo 9 head there and I was thinking about offering a swap program with community. My concern is I get a junk head in a swap, so there goes that idea.

If it's in line, or a work in progress, I wouldn't exactly expect weekly updates..
No kidding it always happens to me. Some places I had to start showing up to randomly to help move things along. I swear the next job I send out will have time tables built into the cost negotiation.

Welp, now over three weeks with the new machine shop with radio silence.
I've sent msg's. Left msg's. Nothing.
This is exactly the problem I was having with my original machine shop which is why I switched to the new one.
They sure have all sorts of time to continually update their facebook and instagram feeds daily though...
I'm seriously done with his crap industry.

Sorry Bryan. He is and will always be swamped with work. When I asked about turn around time, he originally estimated 2 months because there were about 20 people ahead of me. It ended up taking 3 months bevause projects run into hiccups and took a little longer to build. He does excellwork, but the wait is rough. That's why I was considering a trade program to help evo community out.
Hey Bryan,
He is usually on Instagram and has links that carry over to FB. PM him on Instagram and he gets back to you. He rarely opens FB app. Or call him at business phone. He's there and always picks up. He just opened FB and saw your messages. He will call you after he settles in.

Headgames told me 4-5 weeks for my full race port head. It took 5 weeks. Would have been four, but they had a machine failure. They called with updates on this stuff too. Dave also called me about half way through to go over what parts I wanted to put in it.
What was the original time estimate from this shop?
And yeah, 3 months is out of control for a cylinder head. Sounds like the guy needs to hire help.

Geez, I turn around CNC ported heads (a pair at that) in a week typically. 2 weeks at most if there is an issue with the machine. 3 months is just crazy! I have a program for the Evo head too....

Spoke with Aaron from the machine shop today. Good news is he pressure tested the head, no cracks so it's usable.
I gave in and am going to have the head CNC'd as well. It's a big chunk of money more but at this point I might as well.
Full GSC valve train and I am moving to S2 cams from my Kelford 214-b's.
He is going to start on it next week after he gets back from a trade show.
Should be interesting to see what the differences are once I get it back and swapped.
I probably should be figuring out fueling since I am currently out of fuel with the current setup after 8k.
