Also why did you pick the SS housing?
i picked the SS housing because it's stronger and deals with heat better, both of which I need for track use.

the non-ss housings have been known to fail under track use.

as far as bb vs jb, I personally would never get a large frame turbo without bb, mainly because of response.

Did you get the .63 or .82 housing?

.82 because more power at same or even less boost (due to lower back pressure as you said), minimal change in spool.

So little change of plans. Got a killer deal on a MHI-18k from Cobb Tuning, they were selling them at a pretty good discount and it was too good to pass up. The MAP V band 5858 kit was tempting but seeing as I already have the MAP cast stock replacement manifold and 02 dump/downpipe I figured this would just be easier. Hoping to make 450/400 and having MHI reliability.

uhm okay? While I'm glad you got a great deal, perhaps post that in your own build thread?

I wasp my stating cause in two previous messages I was saying how your purchase of the MAP V band kit convinced me to consider getting one as well. Almost pulled the trigger. Not trying to crash your party

On another note, that 5858 is going to make your car a monster Brian. Good bet it'll make 450whp and very low "track-safe" boost levels on E. I hope your brakes are up for it. My car makes ~430whp on the 23psi-24psi track tune. You'll have a similar flowing compressor, but with much less back pressure.

450whp track tune is exactly my goal. Anything more would be gravy. That would basically be 100whp more than it had before the motor went.

Then 500whp+ for the street when I'm feeling stupid.

That's exactly how my car is. 430ish at the track, which is plenty. 530ish on the street.

If you get a good port job on the head (cough English Racing cough), she'll make 600ish for the street.

I was going to have Portflow design do the head but I've already spent way too much on everything.

Took some photos today of the MAP turbokit bits to send to Advanced Thermal to get a quote on heatshielding, figured I would post them here too.
