Well, looks like the spark plug shrapnel took out the valve, not the other way around...

Cylinder wall has some damage as well, gets caught on finger nails...

i wouldn't worry, a light bore/hone will probably clear it up.. and if you plan on big power you would need sleeves anyways...

i am actually suprised there isn't more damage with bits of valve clunking around...

Yea I'm assuming they got sucked out the exhaust ports quickly.

Looks like the head and block are both reusable. I still say send the head to ER. If you pm or talk to Aaron, he'll probably tell you how it outflowed a certain company head on said certain company's flow bench. And how it made 100whp over another certain company's head on a high HP setup.

The exhaust ports require A LOT of work on the X head because they're so small.

I'm leaning more towards sleeving the block now which adds even more $$$$ to my planned build so a ported head goes way down the list.

Gotcha. Definitely a good choice to keep it bullet proof for track use.

Where is the best place to purchase Carrillo rods? The PRO-H are like $1150 everywhere I look and the Manley Turbo Tuff are $770.

Making it hard to pick the Carrillo over the Turbo Tuff with that price difference...

That almost sounds cheap lol. I think LA Sleeve was around $2500 when a friend of mine did it.

The insane weight difference definitely makes it worth it IMO. Did you try English Racing? I know, I know, I bring them up a lot LOL. But they're currently using Carrillo in all of their steel rod motors and may have better pricing.

Soldered up the wiring on my Sensor X board for Racecapture Pro today.

Added quick disconnect harnesses for the sensors. Next is to heat shrink the whole module to clean it all up.
