Yup, for sure. This whole build is a lot. Good news is that I'm finally done picking up parts.

So far about 15k into it.

Well, you definitely went the "all route" vs what seemed like was going to be a "budget" build at first...LOL

Yea, and it all adds up for a proper build:

I don't have the intestinal fortitude to keep a spreadsheet of what I've spent on my car.

Yea I haven't done something like this in a long time. The only reason I am doing it this time is to show people what a high-quality build really costs and for insurance reasons.

Yup. I love getting scoffed at when I quote someone 8k-12k to build them an engine that will "handle 1000hp". Then they message me 3 months later after the guy that "will do it for half that" built there motor, asking what this "knocking sound" could be.

More progress!

Head is assembled and complete.

Block and all internals are at the machine shop being assembled...

Nice stuff...Iconel shielding looks like part a NASA hyperdrive defense project. Quality and heat management it should provide is worth the cost of admission.

I hear ya. We have a sickness, and it just is too much fun. If you have a significant other, NEVER show the spreadsheet. She (let's be real here) really doesn't need to know. Honestly if anything happened to my car I would have to have a buddy follow it to whatever horrible destination and begin immediate surgery; harvesting ALL VITAL ORGANS no matter how long it took!
Crossing fingers none of us have to ever do that!

I have insurance on the car AND the aftermarket equipment for just that reason.
