That 24mm WL RSB is a standard Go-to. I run the same!

Dont do the FSB (not needed). Cusco lower sway bar brkt is good idea to combine w/the end links!

Endlinks sure, but which ones? Reading around it seems like a coin toss if adjustable will sit properly and not produce any clunking noises? Fresh OEM best bet?

Honestly hadn't thought of bushings outside getting a master kit and doing all of that but that might be overkill for me and I'm not a rich man...

Thanks for the response

Regarding the endlinks, ive intalled the WL at all 4 corners.

That Cusco lower coupled w/the WL endlinks is a good system to run

End link no. are:

Huh...then I might as well just get this bar/link kit?

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Mitsubishi-E...t/323766141212

Yeah I know, Ebay. Up here, in Canada 'eh, we gotta search wherever has cheapest shipping so that's why that.

I looked at that link & that appears to be true WL kit? Nothing E-bay about that other than its sold through them

Not sure what the cost is for just the WL RSB & the links. Really dont need the FSB, in fact, many will note its a performance negative for the understeer prone EvO

Due to the lunacy of shipping to Canada it's about 8 bux cheaper to get that kit as opposed to cobbling all those components and paying individually...plus I used up my American cousin on BBS rim and rear Bilsteins.
Then I sell front bar for 100$ and it all works out fine.
Too bad I can't find a geometry correction kit as well!
So like, all the LCA bushings?
Seriously thanks for all the help, everything I know about cars is from giant diesel or reading...mostly on here

Got some time to visit the cars and get interior dash harness from 8 completely removed. Pulling the dash first time having little clue(didn't find how tos for complete removal) was nerve wracking but got it out without busting anything. Key for pulling it is the 2 10mm holding the passenger airbag in.
There is still a pile of weird wiring left over from a variety of crap...radar, gps, remote start and more that is a complete mystery and I'm wondering if I need to just pull all wiring and use mystery free stock stuff from 9. Advice on this would be really nice

Some mystery wires with extra spooky little electronic goo-gah

Dash and harness out. Anyone need an 8 dash and harness? Etacs ECU and all!

Nice job & thanks for giving us an update

I agree w/ya on maybe the best thing is to first eliminate all those extra add-on electronics. Once you do that, maybe you will have some confidence that the stock 8 wiring can be used in conjunction w/the vital harnesses & ECU's needed to pwr up the 9's components

Have never done what youre doing so take my comments lightly

Yeah, after following bundles I'm gonna have to remove fenders and pull the works.
On a side, while dash is torn apart I cut up brackets to relocate HVAC to lower cubby. One thing I'm not sure of is how to actually mount the controls themselves, do I need to cut off the little tabs on the unit itself? Or am I missing a how to that shows this. I've searched and watched videos and they all say cut brackets, but what about tabs on controller? Got some pics

HVAC controller

Tabs that seem in the way when trying to mount in lower spot. Yes, cut em off is the answer for anyone who sees this.

Finally abusing the dremel!

Came out smooth

Currently doing same swap, I just swapped over evo 9 engine harness into my 8. From my understanding I think everything works except engine harness and some plug for trans. I could be wrong like you learning on the fly.

Really? I thought Mivec made engine/ecu harness different between years. Mine is pulled already so no big deal. I know for sure dash hadda come out as ACD on 9 means clusters must swap.
You have a thread going? With pics too maybe?

I should have time to go do some stuff this weekend and hope to get rear diff swapped and possibly tear into 9 interior.

Just some pics of stuff

How did you get ECU harness undone from firewall on the interior side!?! MAN what a PITA that was!
Anyway, I got out to the cars today and finished yanking all mystery and not needed wiring from the roller. Learned how to remove fenders along the way...stupid skirts and their rusted to mush screws, gonna cause me grief down the road when everything starts going back together for realsies. Some pics because why not.

All wiring gone...except the stuff that can stay.

ECU and Fuse box wiring. Anyone needs em they will be cheap AF as I gotta get rid of things ASAP due to lack of storage.

Wish I had the money and/or know how to do a tuck with the sweet firewall connectors but a working car is what matters most now.

Daily/work van. Friggin' love it!

Next up I plan to pull rear diff and axles from crashie and swap 'em over. Also noticed rear driver strut is blown, more likely I get some Swifts to go on Bilsteins. Hopefully that will all go as reasonably well as everything so far has.
Should have a pressure washer with me next time so gonna blast stuff as I go. Tempted to just open up inside the wreck because it's pretty ugly but won't because that would ruin something electric for sure.

Not gonna lie, I only ever pulled wrenches and cables on drilling rigs where you can always freak out and throw crap about while you scream because rust or whatever. Digging into a car had me nervous because I don't know squat. So I thought. Turns out it's just wee versions of industrial crap I know. Feeling much better about it all and saving actual thousands of dollars by growing a set.

Still wondering about the tabs on HVAC controls, do I cut 'em?

Fender

Damaged fender, see the crack and crinkle? Tab is also busted off, see other pics. Can it/is it worth fixing? Tree-fiddy.

Tab from fender. You good welding aluminium?

Inside where tab busted off, also crack.

And lost a couple of screws in the gravel. Sunuva...

Blown away that I almost need to pull the engine already. Weirdly easy to do all this. Who knew.
