So the accessory pulleys have a bit of surface rust, is it okay to buff it off? All were replaced 1600miles?15 days before crash. Did timing and all that, went to work for 2 weeks and crashed on the way home. New clutch, tires...spent 6k on maintenance then BLAMMO!

Meow

It'll clean up! Somehow through all this I lost the rear bench though...will EvoX rear bench fit? Not into the blue that's in it...

Only thing left is T-case then it's lift the engine!!!!!!!!!!! Gonna rent a little excavator to do it with, oughta go slick...I hope...

Sorted? Well, I got em to let go so I can move the new hotness beside crashy so heart swap will go smooth. What actually needs fixing is yet to be determined but a bleeder kit is on the way now. Most exciting pic that isn't all bolt heads and wires

Fresh!

On it's way!
Then due to it being Saturday and the rental machine needing to go back this is where it sits for the night. If turbo had been off prior to ift mighta been able to squeeze it in before truck came but I didn't wanna rush and mess up anything.

So then 2 bolts snapped off from exhaust manifold and that's gonna be a nightmare and then these valves...

Is this normal for an engine that has sat 4 years and is it worth worrying about or should burn off when the engine fires?

Sometimes it rains when you put an engine in.

So I didn't have a heck of a lot of time but got some stuff done without remembering to snap pics. Boring anyway because it was only running wiring under hood, so that's done! I'm super freaking close to having an entire car. If the weather stays nice through next weekend it may be fuel, plugs and turn it over next Sunday!!!

Wingless without holes for 50$CAD? Sold! Hadda play hard ball with seller because we never really agreed on price but hey, who the hell else wants a 2002 Lancer trunk!?!

Excellent pickup on that trunk. Very few parts are transferable from the Lancer to EvO, but that trunk is just golden

Been awhile since I was able to do anything. Had a major work accident(took 16000 volts, fell 40 feet, I'll be fine) and that has messed up my finances and timing on the car. But I'm walking again and my hands mostly work so it's back out to the car when possible because I'm so effing close to having a whole car! So was out and got a couple small things done and started wrapping my head around what's needed/left to do. Turbo is back, lost a small brass washer from the oil return on pan though, is that a big deal? Plugged a bunch o crap back in too but nobody cares about those pics. Glad I had contact cleaner!

You know when you watch vids about putting the t-case back in? Well that game is like head buttin' a goat FTW! Zang! Anyway, no one cares about my words here(kinda relieving in a world gone mad) so here's pics of things that we all seen before!
Oh yeah...y'know how Evo's are like marvels of clever engineering, except for that one retarded thing? DAFUQ is with those stupid injector plug clips!?!? Good luck finding replacements...in CANADA! FFS!

You can't see it, but that long t-case bolt is under there...with the blasted ACD banjo bolt in the way! Plus something under there cut me...in the Age Of Corona!

EFF ME is that a sum*****uva thing to get on! Bloody sweet victory!!!! Right, yeah the t-case is bolted and plumbed back in.

Gooch is no longer amused.
