It seems like similar known problems are left for individual owners to deal with instead of a general fix/recall. The Ford Focus RS is a new system though and has not really been tested by time, racing, and general teething problems.

well this is the whole purpose behind warranties, and lemon laws. Engineering and manufacturing is not something we can do perfectly yet and this stuff happens to literally every single thing we mass produce. Its really more about how the company handles the situation that is telling then the fact that it happens.
