^^ your front air dam is pretty close how I want mine, curious what's the length of it from top to bottom, also how did you go about attaching it to the bottom sheet securely?

The air dam is 4in. from splitter to bumper.
The splitter is connected with 90 deg metal 1/8in. at oil cooler , ACD ,and by front frame under bumper.

Some more pictures of the car and rear diffuser!!!

At this point its just racers tape. It cheap and light. Someone suggested caulk, but that might add 5 lbs.

Is this the tape you used?
I bought black caulk but didn't use it yet.

Just in case anyone needs too, you can order the APR splitter in different lengths. 2" is normal, but you can do 4" and 6"...

I've ordered the 6" and will probably use some Alumilite to reinforce it, and possibly do some ends, but we will see once the front is off.

Great DIY here guys .

Yes Sir . I'm sure colored duct tape would work as well, but I wouldn't use it on the body.

Right guys!

Does anybody have any educated information on rear chassis mounted spoilers like the one in the pic below.

Seems to be all the rage with the hardpark kings at the moment, even saw one on a prius today on facebook. But is there any real performance gain from these? i assume it moves the fulcrum point for the downforce slightly more towards the rear if u pick up on the right point of the chassis. resulting in more downforce as its further away from the balance point of the car?

Further more has anybody whos in active competition actually tried or is using a spoiler mounted like this? and would you mount it over the boot still or would you try get the wing behind the boot as in the picture.

Looking to chassis mount my spoiler this offseason and this is an option im considering.

Car is 430kw and has full front aero and a custom rear diffuser. we will be flat bottoming the car also in the offseason so it shouldnt be too rear biased on downforce.
Interested to hear opinions! more interested in wether theres a functional advantage to this or wether its purely cosmetic.

It's got a fair advantage over trunk mounted (like mine) because of the give and lift the trunk experiences if you pull down on it. So X amount of downforce is wasted until you reach the point where the trunk is actually "pushing" on the chassis. I believe the AMS car from 2009 has the bumper mounted option fab'd out if you search for those pics. At some point i'll be doing a removable trunk/wing/chassis mount design. Likely when I go to do a proper fuel cell.

yea i figured theres a bit of loss there till the wing is actually pushing down. but in reality i wonder how much you actually lose as everything compresses etc. and surely once ur up at say 60mph which you would be for most corners surely the downforce is enough that most of that stuff is already compressed.

I need to seriously try cut more weight out of the car. going to begin by cutting out unnecessary panels like the parcel tray etc i think. just hard to know whats structural and what isnt.

There's quite the extensive weight loss threads here, both 8, 9, and 10's.

Pretty much what Chad at CBRD was talking to me about.

Even when a spring (rubber, in this case) compresses it transfers the force. 500 lbs of force whether on a spring or on a rigid mount is still 500 lbs of force. By putting it further back it creates a longer lever against the rear suspension which will increase the force the rear tires see and decrease the force the fronts see. It does not change how much force a wing will make. Over bumps the rubber may end up negating some of the force as it will be pushing the wing up on rebound. I can see how that makes a difference with it being a rigid mount but that's about it. I am no aerodynamicist but physics is physics: for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
