Noobs and the quest for 50 posts
I personally dont like the idea of 100 posts!!! Ive been on here since april and would like to sell stuff but cant. Ive bought stuff but also dont want to clutter up the site with nonsense.I think there should be some way of getting through this easier like maybe just 25 posts and being a member for at least 6 months or more.
Ive been here for a while, I dont post too much because I obviously dont have an evo and dont want to post useless stuff. But I would really like to be able to buy stuff considering alot of the evo stuff swaps over to the 4g64 in my galant.
You are absolutely correct, and when people see this happening, PLEASE report the post and let us know whats going on!!! You guys are around the forums a lot more than I can be, and we rely on members to 'look out' for each other and let us know so we can put a stop to it. As an Admin, I can even remove a members ability to post in the FS areas even after they post-***** to 50, so it's never too late to let us know. We certainly appreciate the members that do just that.
We have discussed this issue of altering our rules, and recently we did by raising the requirements from 50 posts/30 days to 50 posts/60 days. I think we could have gone a bit farther but the Staff wanted to start out gradually and then re-evaluate the results. We are doing that now...

that 50 post rule is gay cause i had to post in like different threads my post didnt even count if i stayed in one thread.. maybe turn it down or something but look at me know i have been posting a **** load and still around the 100 area
Explain why you believe it is a "gay" rule. Without explanation, you're just complaining...which won't help. Did you read the sticky at the top of this section that explains why the rule is in place???
I have to agree with the 50 post thing is kinda annoying. I am mainly a lurker but plan on buying an evo soon and would like to be able to post in FS when Im ready to pull the trigger. I sit at a computer all day so can find places where my comments arent completely useless but for someone that isnt at a comp alot I would imagine it would be an even bigger pain.
To bad there cant be some sort of registration or sign-up for the for sale section. Just an idea.

50 Posts
Requiring 50 posts to post in the Marketplace is stupid. I have been a watchful member for almost 2 years. Why make posting stuff for sale so hard? I was going to post that I am interested in selling my xx, since there seemed to be some interest, but I guess this is the wrong section for that.
Well I guess I am 1 closer now, that is if the site post counter even worked

well we all think its a good thing that way there is no scammers tryin to sell stuff. If u have been a watchful member for that long u should have been posting and u would already be at 50 post. Honestly I think it should go up too 100 posts. There has been so many newbies tryin to ***** post to get there.

It's in the forum rules. With all due respect, have you never read the rules in 2 years?
It's all about covering our butts in here.

We've noticed it...and have caught many of them...but it's nearly impossible for us to catch all of them without the help of the members.
If you see someone you think is doing this, please report the post. Click the little red/white triangle (look to the left, below your screen name and you online/offline status). You can report the post and all of the moderators can see it and determine what should be done.
Thanks!

I am encouraging all members that read this thread that before buying anything from any member to check for a few things:
1. Check the Personal Sales Rating and feedback.
2. Check for how many posts the person has.
3. Go to the advanced search and search his/her username and check all the posts. That will show if the person reached the 50+ posts by replying: "yes", +1, UP, TTT, etc... or if the person actually contribute to the community.
4. If you see something that it is not right on a seller, please use the report icon just below the username.
That will not prevent a rip-off but will lower considerably the chances of dealing with a scammer.
We rely on all the members to lookout for those type of users and report them. As mentioned before, it is almost impossible to catch all of them but a lot of them get caught.
