Well, we have recently raised the time requirement from 30 to 60 days. Finding a happy medium with the requirements is tough because we want to put as many roadblocks in front of potential scammers as possible, but we also want to keep the marketplace accessible to our (overwhelmingly amount of) legit users. 1 month/25 posts is not enough, but 6 months/100 posts is too much (IMO). I'm not sure what the correct ratio is, but I think we're close with what we currently have in place (2 months/50 posts)

i think the system my350z.com has is pretty good, you have to have pictures of what your selling with your user name and date on a piece of paper in the picture.

That does sound good but the first thing that comes to my mind is "whats stopping someone from making that same thread in 5 other forums?" Then collecting the money? At least here you have to spend some time to be able to post.

The established controls seem reasonable and I would assume based on the feedback from the mods that is is wokring and detering scammers.

I dont like the idea of having to use a paypal account to register as I dont have a paypal account and never will.

Scammers are like any other thief out there, regardless of the controls that you choose to impose upon them, they will find a way around or under it. Since most of them are out for the quick scam/buck - hence the 60 day 50 post rule may be more time then they are trying to spend.

I have no problem if you make it 100 posts as I just got my evolving status today

They also require some times as well. Posting a username and date, that can help members to protect from scammers. People can copy pictures from online and can tell buyers they doesn't have a camera or use a brand new pictures to cover damage items that they selling. Ofcourse that will not help them stop making a threads on other forum, but I'm sure other forum has their own rule and here we are talking about evom forum(that I believe...)

Yea but think at people like me. I read this forum more than 2 years. I registered fewmonths ago. I don't speek engilsh as well as i want to, so I don't feel free in writing posts. Now I need buy few things to my car and i need to make "50 quest"? This is reason why people are pushed to spam forum.
You don't want random people post several "sale posts", so you have alot of people spamming forum when makin "50 quest".

Well, personally I think the rule sucks. And although you may consider me a noob, I have sold 3 items successfully on this site. Therefore, I think if you sell at least two items successfully, regardless of post count, you should be allowed to post in the FS section.

I think posting in sections WTB for people who needs parts is NOT bad. For example, when I got my first evo and signed up, I was pissed because I could not make a thread of the CRAP load of parts I NEEDED to buy to get my evo running.
NOW, in the FS section, 100 POSTS + 1 month membership alteast sounds VERY much FAIR. However, WTB, I dont think there should be a rule for that. Clearly, if someone Wants to buy parts, he needs them, as did I, and will pay ahead. You can't really get scammed. If they tell you to ship first though, then you are a retard.

I have no idea why some one who wants to be a member of this forum, would rush to get into the FS, unless they were up to no good.

I almost had to fly out of state by getting scammed from someone on Honda-Tech, luckily it was resolved and I got my money.

I don't want to travel down that road again.

I have an evo x.. Not an 8 or a 9. I have evox parts that ralliart guys want to buy. I have been a member since 2008. I just had like thirty posts taken off my count. For what? Ego trippen, Power hungry kids I guess. My trades or sales are all 100% possitive. I tried to ask why my posts were removed and got no awnser. you all jump to judge people way to soon. What gives you the right? You delete posts with no explanation at all. Totally unorganized an unfair.

I am also a member on socalevo. They count a full post on any post that has more that 70 characters in the post. 3 word replies do not count as a post. They should do the same thing here.

Remember people, we are all GUEST here. This is some one else house. We are just visiting here. I have been here almost 5 years( wow time flys) with only 120 post. Yea I sell things but also people are cheap so I do not know why you are in a hurry to sell anything. I am glad they have rules... they protect us.
