they screwed one of the members of ntec over pretty bad. he ordered a seibon part from them and it came in broken, it took them three months to respond to any of his emails

That sucks. I've ordered a few parts from MAP and never had any issues.

well to be honest i expect that even the most stellar companies will have issues, its just the way it is. the issue i had was when someone complained all of the sudden their threads vanished. its one thing to make a mistake, but its another to force the customer to deal with it.

i have done business with vendors here, ets and also a shop called evolution dynamics. i had an issue with ets but they fixed it in fine fashion, which is why i came back and dumped 5k on a turbo kit from them. evolution dynamics is the same way. if something happens and its their bad they make it up to their customer. otherwise i wouldnt say anything good about them and wouldnt be a customer anymore

We don't go out of our way to protect "bad" vendors, and being in central Florida you're probably aware that one of MAP's main competitors is no longer here because we had too many problems with them. We've dumped several other vendors over the years because of problems. Nobody on the staff gets a penny from the vendors; we work with the vendors to achieve satisfactory outcomes, but we're almost always going to side with our members when we believe vendors are not being honest. If the staff goes to IB with a problematic vendor, they listen.

I think I recall the Seibon issue and it came down to it being a part that MAP doesn't stock in house, but rather drop ships from a 3rd party. There was a major breakdown in communication, not just on MAP's part, which is usually the problem with these types of "bad" vendors. We always strive to get both sides, which you may not hear when you're chillin' in a parking lot with friends.

If you have any specific concerns about MAP, or any vendor, feel free to contact a member of the staff and we'll be glad to investigate.

No offense but it sounds like your paranoid just because you know people and heard stories about MAP. I personally know someone that is sponsored by MAP and is making almost 800hp on their motors without any problems. Honestly, you should not be making a judgement call like "i would stay away from MAP if I were you" if you have ZERO first hand customer experience with that company. I understand your trying to help but that's like me telling people to stay away from buying an evo X because I've heard bad things about it. Even though I have never even driven one. MAP has a huge following on this forum because of their customer service and prices. I am not trying to sound like I "work for them" but they are definitely a great company to work with.

word of mouth dood. there is nothing wrong with me saying something even if i am not a customer. my friends had problems, thats where my opinion came from. if they are as good as you say or think, then one or two people speaking about their failures wont hurt them. if you know someone who spent a lot of money on a part and had a bad experience, are you going to take the chance? i wouldnt, my money doesnt grow on trees. i have a friend who spent a lot of money on a motor and had nothing but problems. yes they have a huge following, so they should be just fine with me giving a friendly warning to someone else about them. besides, they could always look up the bbb website and other reviews to see.

and im not paranoid, its not like i ordered something from them and now im worried.

Very true. I browse the forums constantly and see people bash vendors/distributors on the daily but unless I see a trend then I'm not usually swayed by one person's opinion. I do take opinions and others' bad experiences into consideration before buying parts though. It'd be ignorant to read how a company mistreated someone with parts/services without doing a little more research to see if it was a serious issue or a rare, unfortunate instance.

I've had issues with ETS in the past with services and parts. In the end, Michael fixed the issue I was having and I'm pleased with his resolution. Does my experience alter my decision to choose AMS over ETS now? Sure... a little bit. But that's my choice. I'm not gonna try and tarnish a company's reputation just because I had a bad experience. Im not saying that was your intention, but I think eveyone is getting all agitated because of the way you stated your opinion. But its a forum... so who cares.

i look at it this way: we are all human, we all screw up. its how you handle the screw ups that matter. ets only made minor mistakes with me, and michael handled it like a champ, which is why i dumped more money into their parts. they also offer a pretty healthy military discount too. everyone screws up, thats a fact of life.

its just an opinion folks, they are still in business, no one was beaten to death, no ones family was disrespected, no ones puppy named skippy was run over because of it. lets move on

LOL I like your second statement. Its all good man. I wasn't getting agitated. Talking back and forth over the Internet is always tough because peoples tone of voice can always get misconstrued so 7/10 times people will always think they are in some sort of an argument when its just a simple conversation.

ugh.
I know a bunch of my AF friends are being wait listed most of them moved to new tampa area and just commute down. my new neighbor 2 doors down commutes with other officers/enlisted personal on a "van pool". Its very common down in southcom for them to commute from fort lauderdale to doral as well

I am trying to go back in , but a reserve spot in the AF is hard to come by as an officer :| ... the army just offered me a medcom job for next year as a reservist as some sort of medical IT officer or something ( Dunno the MOS) but at least i go up in rank

Yeah reserve spots are scarce ever since they have been downsizing so much over the past year and a half. Good luck getting a spot man. It's cool to hear that the Tampa crew is going to keep growing this year. I'm hoping to have my car out a lot more now that I finally have 95% of the annoying issues worked out. It's great to be able to get into the car and turn the key and drive ANYWHERE in ANY weather without thinking about something being wrong.
