man that turbo is promising. i'm hoping to get my car in the 400+ range on 93 and i think it will easily accomplish it. can wait to hear more about them.

what type of advantage will porting the turbo have? faster spool? no surge? more power?

so far what are your impressions of the turbo? i know your happy with what you have seen but any driving impressions yet? i wonder how transient boost, throttle response etc are with this bad boy!
great work guys!

I bought 880's to go bbk, now this thing appears. The 780's were maxed in your first dyno, how much more can be done on 880's or should I get larger injectors?

Can anybody confirm that first test was on 93? If so my savings are screwed.

I would assume so, they don't even sell 91 in PA. Some places have 92 but most have 93.

well, back on the dyno,

car just made 431whp/360wtq at 28psi tapering to 26.5 (stock actuator)

its about 250 rpm slower this morning than the BBK full,

I am excited to get the turbo on a car tomorrow that has a massaged head, S2 cams, and our big garrett core fmic. I think we will see 450whp/375 wtq at 28psi on that car... which is great stuff here

more to come, with charts.

cb

this is on straight 93, the mild evo ix cossie cams (which im not crazy about)...

here are some plots,

28-29 psi on 93,

This car is WAY WAY out of injector up top, you will be able to see where it goes lean around 6600 and then knocks and retards the timing.....

I have 1000cc coming for all three of these cars (all were on 780s) that we are testing this week.

Here is the plot of two pulls, I have also incuded the raw data for boost afr and tq and hp so you can see where it hits those boost levels and the coorelated numbers.

Cheers

CB

Looks like this could definitely be a competitor for the FP Red. Are you having any surge issues with a larger wheel in the small stock housing like the older style Red's did?

Standard cover,

we have not encountered any surge issues yet, nor did the original BBKB test turbo...

doing more street and low load testing later to continue data logging!

Will you have any overlays of a BBK to the BBK-B? What do you think the average gains will be over one another on say 92-93oct at similar boost?

This looks similar to, but better then the red(on pump), I hope it drives similar to the bbk as far as responsiveness. Otherwise I'll still be looking at the full. Can't wait to get some full reviews, especially from people who upgrade.

yes i will do some overlays,

i have some for this car, weather is way way different (what sucks about testing when we cannot do it ABSOLUTELY back to back)...

one of the cars next week, we are going to do on the same day.... so its back to back...

the gains on this turbo will be over 27psi I really think, and on cars revving to over 7400 rpm, where the BBK started to flatten out, this one does not.

the graph above where it drops off is due to knock because of the lean AFR, this car would hit 450whp fairly easy without that issue!

1000cc injectors being overnighted!
