Torque is the factor you need to look at. Most tuners feel as though between 400-500wtq depending on the dyno is the limit of the stock bottom end. Some have had luck with more power, and others luck with less power. But I believe that range is the accepted "safe" limit.

I think most reputable tuners would say 400 wtq on a Mustang dyno and 440 wtq on a Dynojet. And this is with conservative timing and AFR.

^Yeah I guess that is what I was getting at. I mean in one hand I think if it doesnt knock then keep throwing boost at it, but in the other hand at some point the torque is going to be take the safety factor on certain parts down to zero. If I go with this turbo over the regular BBK Full I want to be confident I can utilize its potential over the BBK Full without drop-ins and worry one day a 3rd gear pull will cause something bad to happen.

i'm sure once more testing is done and Chad gets a better feel for the turbo and its potential all of our questions can be answered. so far it looks like the turbo is not that much of a torque monster but i guess that depends on the mods and the car.

i still would like to know how it compares to the Full as far as transient boost, driving impressions, etc. in due time im sure!

Yeah I agree. By the time I buy this all the bugs should be worked out and the tuning dialed and the correct supporting mods pretty well understood. A good example is the injector size. We can cross that one off the list.

I bet you can't wait to bolt one of these up to that manifold I sold ya!

We always run 93 octane,

knock on wood, we have never blown an evo motor... we cracked a ringland one time on one of our shop cars at low 500whp range because of build issues with an engine.

I have a roadrace car here that sees multiple track days each month tuned on 93 with a BBK AND a cat running 28.5ish psi with 56,000 miles on it, STOCK BOTTOM END!

we are not a peak power or drag race company, we build strong street/weekend track cars to take abuse, so sometimes we sacrifice a bit to make something live hence our track record.

we dont set cars to "kill mode" lol how some describe it.

I am comfortable in the 450whp range on a well taken care of stock block car revving to 8000 rpm with proper valvetrain work!

our client will chime in with his new build, and two more later this week!

they can tell you what THEY think,

i drove the 460whp car on the street, and it was nasty, wheelspin in 1st, 2nd, on a dry road with 18" wheels tires.... felt amazing... the response is about 200 rpm slower than the BBK, and the transient was slightly affected, MUCH better than we saw from the prototype almost a year ago

hardwork paid off, i LOVE both of these turbos...

awesome Job!!! man i can not wait to get this turbo. i'm still getting everything i'm going to need.

i was wondering about the spool difference but i think i can definitely live with 200 - 400 rpm difference

i guess i can maybe expect 420-430?

I think with the ported intake mani, 65mm TB, and 3.5" fmic I should be able to safely run upward of 28psi on this turbo. With stock valvetrain and HKS 272s the revs may have to be limited however. But I want to keep them as Chad and I have discussed to help with torque. The turbo will feed the head and make the hp. Man, I totally think I could pick up 90whp over what I made last time on this dyno if the temps are similar with this turbo and a couple other small supporting mods (like the ones stated above, injectors, Perrin intake tube). Can't wait!!! And can't wait for more results...
