First of all, I would like to say thank you to Shiv. My car is absolutely amazing! Frankly, the difference between the car now and a week ago is startling. I’m sure that many of us feel that customer service is very important, and I could not have been happier with the service and professionalism I received from Shiv. Definitely top-notch. And again, the car is awesome.
I have to admit that I had what I can only describe as a negative experience with Al. I don’t know enough about this stuff to say anything negative about his tuning abilities; I know he has many happy customers. I’m just not one of them. He was rude and unprofessional, and it sucks having to deal with someone like that. Again, I know he has a certain reputation as a tuner and I respect that, I just don’t like the crap that comes along with it.
As far as the car is concerned, the most salient thing I can say about how it feels now is this: it’s a heel of a lot faster now than it was when I drove it home after the last tune. I don’t know about a boost leak. It’s possible, I guess. The boost gauge had consistently read where Al told me it should read.
With regard to the Buschur parts, the only problem that I had was with the fitment of the down pipe, which I figured was an Evo IX-compatibility thing. I didn’t like the sound from the intake and bov, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the parts. Buschur’s customer service is excellent, it should be pointed out. When Gruppe-s was installing the parts I had ordered from Buschur, they discovered that the rubber hose for the maf pipe was missing. I called Buschur, and Nick sent the hose to me next-day air, free of charge. Great service!
Anyway, thanks again to Shiv for the excellent work. My car is an absolute blast to drive.

OK, everyone. Stop posting. The post above should have ended this a long time ago.

And I asked Al to respond (post #263), and he wouldn't (I wonder why).

Al, STFU, stop *****in and whining. No matter what you say is gonna change the customers mind. And Al if you remember,

THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

The customer said you were rude and unprofessional.

The customer said that boost was holdin'.

The customer said that Shiv's tune felt better then Al's.

The custome also said Shiv and Dave had great service

There it is, strait from the owners mouth.

AL get over it, you lost this one. Go back to being a ****in lawyer.

Sounds like both Shiv and Al are up for a challenge.
Perhaps we need to start a new thread to determine the environment and variables as well as a fair way of acquiring and evaluating the results.

Dude you are cold. I am really hurt to see so much anger and hate. This is wrong, I tought that the people that drive Evos are a little better than the rest but I was wrong.

Not sure how you missed this but nothing else:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&postcount=272

Also not sure how you couldn't find it after it was referenced about 20 times since then. Your refusal to answer that challenge is what Al is talking about. I guess you just missed it somehow, but now you can comment...

I posted a fair and clear warning about insults and flaming. Your account will be disabled for 3 days. If you create another account during that time, your account will be removed ....... IP and all. Thanks.

A couple of others are on thin ice. This thread will remain open as long as the members find value. But the rules of this site do apply and if you cannot restrain yourself then do not post. Thanks.

Speedlimit - You may want to clean up one of Al's comments (early on) calling Shiv a jerk-@ff

I'm sure you'll post a warning to him too

I swore I would stay out of this . . . but I guess Whiv wins $20 as I just have to comment on this

Today - I just finished a guy here on the Dyno who has been here for 4 hours

He came from another tuner shop which I wont mention - I dont want to diss anyone - period

The customer had originally recieved a flash the other shop's flash tune (BR stage 4) but did not like the idle and he did not like the power delivery. For what ever reason he decided to try a UTEC tuned by that same shop which he really did not care for as his relatred the car was worse on driveability.

he called me to ask if I could take a shot at his problems

It turns out his Greddy type S bov was not functoning properly and was resulting in 99% of his driveability problems - that and his 272 cams

I installed a Forge BOV - changed his plugs - and gave him a flash with my new idle smoothing set up

I could have done base runs and made a big expose on how the other tuner sucked or what ever - but its beneath me and its not cool

All tuners work hard to satisfy the customer, if the other tuner over looked the BOV malfunction then maybe they were too busy or maybe it happend after the customer left = who knows

My point is how idiotic it would be for me to be in a three way debate with the customer the old tuner and myself - for what ?

In this case - the customer did not care for me - I am sorry I did not please him

I tried my best to provide him as good a service and tuning as I could and I disappointed him withg my poor attitude which no doubt was prob related to the fact that it was raining like a monsoon that day and I had to be fixing mbc's which were not installed right - no excuse

When you are providing a service you can only try your best to give as good a result and service as you can. If the customer is not pleased ultimately you have failed. In most cases, I have pleased my customers and given them what they asked for, in this case apparently not.

My point is, after having the customer here today who came from another shop - its not a big deal to me, like I said before at least 50% of my Evo 8 tunes have been worked on by other tuners at this point. Its a daily event.

I feel that a tuner who takes advantage of such a situation to exagerate and tramatize the situation in an attempt to discredit others and promote himself is NOT conductiing himself in a proper manner.

My only choices in this situation are to fight back to try and show what ever transgressions or mistakes that Shiv has done - which would only lower myself to the same level - OR just point out that this is very dis tatseful way to market your business.

The customer is always right and in this case I failed to please him - end of story. What has happend since that point is akin to an abortion

I still dont understand why you feel its ok for you to get away from this but make such a huge production when someone tests your products. Com'on Al who are we trying to fool here? Why all the games?

i like the idea....could be modified a bit, but it would be cool....although it would be slightly "unprofressional"

So let me get this right...

The parts installed weren't working as expected. Instead of fixing them you pulled the off, put on what you prefered and retuned?

Car worked good after that, right?

Just verifying....
