as soon as the baby stops consuming all the extra cash.

my clutch is not shot yet but it's getting there so i need to get that twin disk ATS unit along with either the ATS front lsd or a quaiffe. stock Advans are coming off in favor of some stickier Advan A048's (60 treadwear vs stock 160). all this will help my 60' & might allow me to hit 11's b4 i even put the cams & head on... we will see

Ok, so lets update your project here. Your plans are still to run 11.49 on a Evo 8 stock turbo in AZ correct?

I honestly think that with your criteria(stock turbo) you can still achieve your goal of 11.49. Are you planning on using NOS, race gas, stroker kit or Methanol/alcohol kit? If you are planning on using any combination of the mods I listed above then I have no doubt you could get into 11.49.

If you are planning on running on 91 plus alky but not NOS or stroker kit then you will need just about every bolt on you can get.

Your new dyno numbers look very promising but my question is: Is your stock turbo project going to use 91oct or race gas?

Thanks!!

Carlos

Man I love the 6sp, but damn. With a 5sp, we likely would have hit 120mph.

yes i still plan on doing the project in AZ bcuz the guys in AZ can't get respect. there are only 5 evo total in AZ that have run an 11 & they all have big turbos...

i only use Sunoco GT Plus 104 unleaded in the '03 (i was making less power on the VP 101 since it has MTBE in it). i have not used 91 gas since it was flashed in feb '05. i will not use nos or any alky/meth kits.

Basicly you are in the same boat as me, we both want daily stock turbo powered Evos in the 11's i n AZ... and yes, you are correct, there are only a few running 11's but they have turbokits.

Oh Carlos....all the money and effort you're putting on your beloved MR to get into the 11's and here comes this guy with his lightly modded "03 old yeller", puts some race gas and booooya!!... leaves your Evo in the dust. Something stinks in here, don't u think? C'mon, let it out, I know that you have a few things to say here...you are too nice.

Since both of you are making similar power, it would be pretty interesting to see you two racing against each other. Your 05 with cams, meth kit, FMIC with U/L piping, O2,...and the list goes on and on and on....against his 03 with just a flash, exhaust, MBC and some race gas....What a joke

Actually Sergio his car is like half way done, these were just a few mods on his list, he plan of putting more beef on the car.

Yes I am sure he got to be basicly as fast as my car as it is, we put nearly identical numbers now but he will put more stuff on his car on the next 2-3 weeks.

I think his goal is more ambicious than mine, he wants mid 11's on stock turbo, I settle with just high 11's on stock turbo.

I wish to see Housedj at the track in a few weeks though, I think my car and his car would put a great show at Firebird and we will probably be the only stock Evo 8 turbos in the 11's in AZ. We will see.

Don't count me out. I have a stock 9.8 turbo (lightly ported). I recently found a few more ponies just messing with my HKS EVC V. Pushing 28psi, tapering to 25psi by 8K rpms.
The last run for the power listed in my sig was 25psi tapering to 21 by redline.
I also have a stainless O2 housing to put on. I'm sure it's over 350HP/350lbs. All on 91octane with h20/meth injection. Maybe, I could pick up more on race gas???
I wish I could have made it to Mynes this weekend. I had family issues.

My big plan is a 2.4L shortblock with my built head, revolver cams and a EVO IX 20G turbo.
Should have no-lag, monster low-end torque and great top end. I'm thinking 500hp is possible with only a ECUTEC tune. AEM EMS even higher.

Bishiboy,

Off course you are in the equation, remember I am a nobbie on Alcohol systems compared to you, I learned a lot from you when I use to talk to you on the phone.

I think that you are definately another candidate to be a 11 sec car on stock turbo on AZ, unfortunately you live a bit far away and normally don't go to the track often which can affect you ability to launch well or at least be more familiar at the track.

We haven't forgot about you. By the way, are you doing anything to your car before Al comes to Tucson in March again?
