They were also surprised by my comment when I told them the GM stated that he and the owner were working with Mitsubishi to resolve this issue. The MMNA case rep had no record of this and thought that bit of information was interesting. My case has been sent to the district rep, the GM, Mac, and the owner. MMNA stated that I should be contacted within 3 business days by the GM and to call MMNA if this did not happen. MMNA apologized for my negative experience and I have offered to send MMNA the pics of the vehicle damage, copy of the bill of lading(signed by salesman), and a link to this post showing the interaction I have had with South Coast Mitsubishi internet salesman.
Arghh! A business owner's nightmare - a pissed off blogger!
MMNA will probably stroke you for a while, but you'll have to deal with SCM until they fix it. They'll probably fix it eventually, but on their schedule - not yours. Which is dumb of SCM, since their inaction is only making you stink-up their internet sales posts.
SCM - Free Advice : Fire "Mac The GM" for incompetence(telephone-phobia), promote Mark for doing Mac's job, FedEx this guy a new hood & a case of his favorite to get him away from the keyboard......And I'll even buy my EVO SE from you!

Let me clarify the request of a new hood. I have been told that factory painted panels are available from Mitsubishi. If this is true, I definitely prefer this option and want to avoid my car sitting in a dust pit for several days. Otherwise my hood will have to be painted.

You're kidding me right? Do you work for South Coast? In my opinion they are the ones being inconsiderate. They sold and shipped him a clearly damaged car. That never should have happened. Then they jerk him around claiming to be talking with Mitsubishi Motors, which he has now verified they haven't. They don't return his phonecalls and dodge all the questions he has asked. While I certainly agree that Mark didn't handle his deal, Mark is representing South Coast on this forum so he has every right to complain to Mark.

Let me ask you a question? If you spent $30,000 on a car, waited over a month to get it shipped, then had it arrive with damage that the dealership clearly knew about....would you be upset?

Personally I'm glad 240Z posted his story, I was ready to order an SE from South Coast, not after this though.

I thinking you might be right. He only has 2 total posts and they are both telling someone else not to talk bad about South Coast.

I have the exact same thing on my hood, but since my war is white I cant see that clearly untill I get close to it. I don't know if it was like that when I got it from the dealer or It happened afterwards.

Z,

Usually, a new car is painted as a unit, by robots, on an assembly line. I don't see how a factory painted hood could provided. Even if it could be obtained, you can't be sure that the paint would be an exact match. A new hood would not have a VIN# sticker. That might hurt the resale value.

A good body shop can make your hood look like it was never damaged. They can tint the paint, or blend into the fenders, to get a perfect match. If your car is sitting in a high end body shop, it will probably be covered with plastic.

I'm sorry you're getting jerked around, and I would really be pissed if this happened to me.

I keep checking this thread to find out what's happening with the SE. Could you please start a new thread, like one of the blown engine or spun spun bearing threads, so we can follow this story separately?

Thanks, and Good Luck!

yeah i had a pretty bad experience with south coast mitsubishi. they treat you all nice when you buy the car but then after when you take it in for service they seem to ignore you when your there. i got my oil change and i was expecting to stay there for about an hour and even the guy at the service place said it'll be done in about an hour. an hour passes and they say its in the wash already. about another half hour passes and im still waiting for my car to be out of the wash and it nearly took 2 hours for an oil change. everyone in the waiting room that day seemed to be dissapointed with the servcei that day.

I am interested in anyone that is planning on purchasing a car from south coast mitsu. I would like to buy your survey after you purchase the car. I had a great experience purchasing the car, but was promised a gascard in exchange for my filled out jd powers survey. mark is great prior to the sale, but has yet to deliver and has been nothing but promise after promise(pm me for the copies of the pm's that have been sent for the last 2 months). picked up my evo in april with NO gas in it whatsoever(barely enough to get to the station at the end of the block). this was a first for me(as every other new car I have purchased came with a tank), and when asking mark about it, he stated that a gascard for a full tank would be sent upon completion of the jd powers survey. sent the survey(with a glowing recommendation) to him the end of may(he stated that the survey had to be sent to him at the dealership), and all I have to show for it is empty pm's with "it was sent"....
I will pay for a jd powers survey so I can express the "after the sale" service...

and for those out of staters that he promises a gascard for your completed survey....beware...
