hahahah my friend who referred me to SCM had no gas in the tank... but those guys were too happy to even realize that standard dealerships usually give you a full tank of gas.. but oh wells they were still happy with the deal that they got and didnt complain.... i also got like half a tank of gas... but didnt really care either.... its like give or take 30 bucks...

hahah funny thing is.. even my roommate got his Hyundai with a full tank of gas and a crazy clean wash!!!!

I haven't complained a bit about the price from mark, and the gas isn't a dealbreaker, as it was mentioned after the sale, what really pisses me off is that he said he would send it, has told me that he sent one via the post office and one dhl overnite(same way he "supposedly" sent my first contract that never showed up) and I haven't seen one. I listed in my last pm to mark that if you're not going to send it, just tell me, but he keeps telling me that it's in the mail... that's what ticks me off.

I am not trying to one-up anyone, but I think an update is in order. After I filed the complaint on Monday with MMNA I contacted South Coast Mitsubishi because of issues with my title. I spoke with Mike Shriner who I have praised throughout this entire process as being courteous and professional. In getting my title I had to provide the SC DMV a copy of the bill of sale and to my surprise Mike Shriner was listed as the salesman. I pointed this out to Mike because I had assumed that Mike Elliot (the salesman who was fired) was my salesman. Mike stated that he and Mike Elliot worked together selling cars.

I had a chance to explain the entire episode to Mr. Shriner, although I know that he was well aware of the situation. Towards the end of the conversation I asked Mike, guy to guy, what he felt about my exact situation. He agreed that I was right in principle, but because I purchased the car below invoice and because South Coast Mitsubishi lost money on the purchase he was not confident that the owner would offer any compensation for the fact they knowingly shipped me a damaged car.

Well, because I just fell off a turnip truck I believe that South Coast Mitsubishi takes a loss when they sell Evolutions. To justify what they have done by telling me I got a good deal is idiotic and makes me even angrier with how I have been treated. That comment is just salt in the wound. I told Mike that MMNA felt I deserved compensation and that MMNA was contacting them to resolve this issue. Mike then asked me what I felt would be proper compensation. I told Mike that because they had caused this incident I felt it was up to South Coast Mitsubishi to start the offering. Mr. Shriner promised to speak with the owner and get back with me. If not Monday then the following day.

I know this will be a shocker for some, but I have not been contacted by anyone from South Coast Mitsubishi. I will be following up with MMNA in the morning to let them know South Coast Mitsubishi has failed to contact me for resolution. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau tomorrow.

In my opinion and from what I have read from others, South Coast Mitsubishi clearly lacks common business sense and has no regard for the well being of their customers who have spent their hard earned money on a Mitsubishi Evolution and gives Mitsubishi a bad name.

losing money on an evo? that's a good one. by the time they see all the kickbacks and back-ended fees, they're making a profit. probably not as much as others, but volume does wonders for the bottom line.

interesting that evolution_4_all has been on here and reading this, but doesn't have the nuts to respond...

He's probably praying for sept now..

Seriously... for ppl that are unhappy with SCM.. how about start a new thread.
and for 240Z.. maybe you can post a link to your new thread here?

I'm sure a lot of forum members are still looking to get an Evo from SCM.. and
let's be honest... it's a hell of a deal.

I have tried, but it will not let me start a thread. I PM'd the moderator of the forum August 3rd regarding this issue and have not heard a response.

^^you probably won't since south coast pays for advertising space. I'm surprised that mark hasn't had these few pages deleted since it's not good for his business.
I think that if he would suck it up and take care of those that have been wronged and promised things it would all go away, but from the sounds of the few stories; myself included; mark had all the time and chances in the world to keep posts like this from showing up and has chosen not to do anything about it..

i'd rather see it in the monthly sales threads so that potential new customers can see not only the good prices, but the Sh1tty after the service sale and what happens when there are problems like yours.

I, personally, find that south coast had some great prices, but the overall service from the dealership(all things considered from start to after the sale) is severly lacking and part of what gives car dealers a bad rap.

I had a lot more to my original purchase that didn't leave a real positive taste in my mouth for sc, but I left it out of all my prior posts, as I thought mark was a stand-up guy, but more and more I see..........

Hmm, i'd say from my experience that SCM is pretty decent. It's not the most amazing dealership (Subaru dealership where I got my WRX was amazing a few years back) but they seemed nice enough and I got a more than fair deal on tradein and new evo.

I dunno about service since I do my own service and repair and i'm too far to bring it there for service anyway.

As for gas, Mark came with me to the gas station to fill up the tank before I left so I have no complaints.

Hope you get your hood fixed to your satisfaction and everything works out for you 240z! It really does suck when you get the run around, hopefully all will be resolved soon.
