Ya Wes that is exactly what I would and prob. will do in the future on my car. My buddy has a AMS 2.3 with the 30R and the thing is FREAKING INSANE. 
He did just get a 35R now and WOW is all I can say. I personally think the 30R is fine. Get well in to the mid 500'S with that turbo.
