Utah Evos
I just wanted to give you guys a head up on the tint patrol that hangs out in Herriman.lol I got pulled over for my tint being too dark yesterday by a total *** of a cop. I know my tint is a little dark so I knew one day I would be pulled over for it...BUT what got me was he said my taillights were too dark and I needed to remove the tint off of them too
I have stock lights and you can clearly see that they are clear. So I just laughed at him. Then he told me if they are stock that I need to get a certificate from Mits saying that they are the OEM lights and carry it in the vehicle. Then I laughed some more.
SO BE CAREFUL WITH THOSE STOCK LIGHTS SINCE APPARENTLY THEY LOOK TINTED.

Which is so true!
My tint was tested and was at 4.2%
Limo tint for the Win
Well I got bored today at work and put together an Open Track Day schedule for Millir Motorsports Park like I did last year. If anyone has other dates that I missed, let me know and I'll update the list. If you have any questions about the events, feel free to contact me. I don't know everything about everything but I know who to ask (which is mostly just Jake since he's been doing this longer than I have).
I didn't include the Snowcross at Miller this weekend. If it snows, I'll be there.
UPDATE*
I moved the attachment to it's own thread in the West Region. I linked it in my sig so you can get to it. It'll be easier to find if it has its own thread rather than burried on the Utah Evo's thread. Also the Vegas and CA guys can find it easier.

I have driven both as well. Other than being more responsive to mods and the price (which, having a really low new price means having a really low resale value usually), I see no plus in the X. The hp they are gaining isn't that crazy, nor is it much different than the gap between the STi and the old Evos, I gained 70 whp over stock with a tbe and a tune with my VIII.
First off, I like the looks of the STi at least 10x more than the X. Second, I have driven a GSR and MR and STi. They are as different as they are on Top Gear's track: fractions of a second. Third, I have had very very very bad luck with Mitsubishi in the past. I'm still probably going to go in and look (btw the deals for March are even better now) and see what they can do. But it would have to be significantly better than what Subaru can do on an STi for me. The looks and the
symbol negate the benefits of the low price. The money I save may need to be spent on replacing the motor within the first 3k miles... It was last time

HA..they sure do. If I would have known that I would have told Mr.officer that. No I didnt get a ticket for the taillights he just told me they were too dark and I needed to change them. I did get a fix it ticket for the tint though
. He said the reason they are cracking down on tint is because Safety Inspection shops are not doing there jobs and passing them.. My hubby told me I should of told the cop..dont ya think if I know people to pass my safety inspection I know people to write off my fix it ticket.

I am also a fan of the STI in certain aspects, but the X is sure fun to drive. I drove my buddy's sti and thought it had some great attributes, and like you said, they are only seconds apart. I was wondering what kind of numbers have you been getting on your porsche, and maybe i can talk to the mitsu guys about hooking a brotha up on a new X if i can make the #'s work out for you? That is if you still want to consider the X.
The offer that Mark Miller Subaru got for the Porsche last night for a wholesale trade to another dealer was 20,250. And on one of their used '08 STis the best they could get me was like 390ish/mo for 60 months. BUT... LHM Subaru has a much better standing with Subaru as a whole, and so can offer much better deals. Over the internet without looking at my car they have offered a rough 360/month for 60 months at 4.9%. The way I calculate that out they're either giving me a huge discount on the STi, or a huge price increase on my trade, or a mix of both. If they can swap the stupid BBS wheels off the one I want for the non-bbs that they have on another new STi there... that will lower the price by 2000, and then I'll probably be sold since the rate will be right about what I'm paying now.
I'd still consider a X, but rather than my cap being 350ish/month at 60months, it would have to be much more outrageous than that (especially considering that I likely won't have a warranty after I leave the lot). I'd want a GSR with SSS. Grey, Blue, Black, or Red. And it would definitely need to be less than 320/month for 60 months (my current payment, asside from the 60 months) and I'd prefer it to be exactly the payment I have now or less (320/month and roughly 36-48 months [I think I have 3.5 years left on this car at 320/month])
So basically, it would work, but I'm super picky then. I'd love if you could see what you could do for me.
Do you know anyone down there that can sign off on the fix-it ticket? If not, Im sure I will be down your way this weekend riding if the weather cooperates, and I have a doctors appt in West Jordan next Wednesday. I could always meet you somewhere and check to make sure you fixed what needed to be fixed
