Get an X man... read up on the comparisons between the new STi and the new X. Every single comparison I've read the X wins out. The only thing the STi has up on the Evo is the 6 speed, imo. It's way softer, more like an WRX than previous STi's. The S-AWC on the new X is insane... the new 4B11 is super responsive to mods. People are doing intake/exhaust's only and getting 50whp which is insane. I did my own research between the two and drove them both, and for performance the X wins, handling forget about it... the STi doesn't touch it in stock vs stock form. PLUS, you can get one for dirt cheap, they have a $2k rebate on the Evo X's right now and you should be able to get the price of the car down to 29 or 30k or less, so see if they will sell you an STi for 27 or 28k cause that is what you can get an X for. My 2 c's...

Oh, it sounded like you wanted 350-400 to buy one...
It's real tempting for me, if it weren't for the "dishonor on your family" I may experience with buying one, I'd do it without hesitation if it was 400 or less/mo for 60 months and at most a 6% interest. Unfortunately I don't wanna anger the powers that be, especially since they pay my rent (and more)
So if they say no, or seem disappointed by the idea, I'll just wait till the RMS or something else major on the Porsche fails as it gets older and older and buy a regular Impreza (or maybe one of the new 2.5GTs).
Mostly, I'm just realizing how stupid of a purchase the Porsche was. Yes, it was the car I really wanted after test driving a ton. Yes, the overall normal maintenance cost is less than or equal to the Evo's, but if the TC fails (not likely) it does cost nearly double that of the Evo's to replace. As does almost every major part in the car (of course). Now that the Porsche is nearing 60k, I'm more and more getting the dread of something horrible failing. I already have spent about 2000 fixing common problems on the Porsche, and I feel like once it hits 60k, even if it lives past 100k, it is going to drop in value like a rock as it's mileage climbs past 60k.
Plus, it'd be nice to have a new car with a warranty and ~0 miles. I want a car where I'm not worried about putting more miles on it again (like how I was with the Evo).
Hopefully it works out... Evo X or STi, we'll see, hopefully the red STi that LHM Suby has...

I just wanted to give you guys a head up on the tint patrol that hangs out in Herriman.lol I got pulled over for my tint being too dark yesterday by a total *** of a cop. I know my tint is a little dark so I knew one day I would be pulled over for it...BUT what got me was he said my taillights were too dark and I needed to remove the tint off of them too
I have stock lights and you can clearly see that they are clear. So I just laughed at him. Then he told me if they are stock that I need to get a certificate from Mits saying that they are the OEM lights and carry it in the vehicle. Then I laughed some more.
SO BE CAREFUL WITH THOSE STOCK LIGHTS SINCE APPARENTLY THEY LOOK TINTED.

First off, I like the looks of the STi at least 10x more than the X. Second, I have driven a GSR and MR and STi. They are as different as they are on Top Gear's track: fractions of a second. Third, I have had very very very bad luck with Mitsubishi in the past. I'm still probably going to go in and look (btw the deals for March are even better now) and see what they can do. But it would have to be significantly better than what Subaru can do on an STi for me. The looks and the
symbol negate the benefits of the low price. The money I save may need to be spent on replacing the motor within the first 3k miles... It was last time
