Utah Evos
No, they checked a ton of things... but the guys didn't know Evos all that well, so they didn't want to do the big test till the Evolution cert. guy got back... so yeah, pretty much an educated hunch, and the print out had pretty detailed information that sounds exactly like what's happening, and i guess there've been a lot of '03's with the problem, but most people without boost gauges don't catch it and just come in and say "my car feels funny"... Anyway, I'd make the hunch without even looking at things, afterall, it is just a boost leak... I mean, what like 4 of you guys said that's probably what it is, and now we have documented evidence of a place the '03's like to leak a lot.
Hey Scott, how much was your 10.5 hotside, the service tech and I were talking about it, and he wanted to know how much they were... or does anyone else have one they bought? And lastly, is that the main thing adding the power to the '05's?

ok, I just orderd a defi boost and EGT gauge, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience installing an EGT gauge. If so, could you give some advice. I have read about some different ways of taping the exhaust manifold and most recomend the #1 cylinder. Also, should I do it with the car on or off? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Do it off the car. I actually had Modern Garage do it, because I wasn't brave enough. I have the Defi Boost and EGT gauges as well. It's not woth the risk to do it on the car. Now that I have seen how easy it was to remove the maifold, I would have done it myself. Modern Garage charged me like 120.00 to remove the manifold and install the probe. Which I don't think was too bad.
I have read a bunch of posts and basicly everone says to do it while the car is on and idle at like 1000 to 1500. Which will make the exhaust blow the shaveings out. Also, you can use a vacume while you do it. I just dont want to spend a bunch more money if I dont have to. Thanks

I wrote some up a while ago. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...light=manifold
Astro, if your car doesn't feel like it's hitting really hard, I'd have someone quick temporary hook up their boost gauge and see to make sure you're running the right boost... by "feel funny" I mean just not kicking you back in the seat the right way, or just not feeling like it has the right power... If you want, you can just have Mitsu check it out, but it could save you time to just hook up a boost gauge real fast and check it out... Yeah... I guess it could just be down on power feeling... but more like even powerband feeling, instead of the uneven it should feel when you go from no boost to boost... mine feels like a little 4 banger engine with no Mivec, Vtec, turbo, or super charger... it just kinda feels the same all the way through... it's what made me think my clutch was going bad awhile back, cuz it wasn't hitting hard, even for me getting used to it
Anyone got any idea on a cheap place to buy a K&N filter yet?
