It's fairly easy to pick up an AEM EMS for less than $1,000. Used is the way to go. I picked mine up for about $900.

Offer him $600. I've seen 'em go for that cheap. Once you buy it you can check the serial number and then if needed get any hardware/firmware updates from AEM. The used one I purchased needed a hardware update. I had to pay for shipping, but AEM did the updates at no cost.

NOOO, you need the 30-1313 or the 30-1313U. The U has a built in Uego wideband, so you'll pay a little extra. I agree completely with mike, search for one used and save some money.

Good advice. I'll save up for the AEM. All the posts indicate that that is the end all be all of tuners for the evo.

Really I would only get the AEM if you are planning on going to a big turbo setup. If you are staying stock turbo the stock maf will be fine for you and you can save some time and money in tuning and just either get a custom flash or a piggyback.

If you know how to tune already then the AEM will not be a problem. It just requires alot more time in tuning the a piggyback. That means alot more $$ if you are paying someone to tune. Also if you have alot of $$ it doesn't matter.

My .02 cents

Everyone on here knows I am the UTEC ***** and will be loving life as soon as the new update comes out.

Dear Ben,

If you study EvoUtah thread history 351 than you would know that he bought a used Evo from Cali, with a big turbo upgrade. It is actually a pretty nice set-up. But it is tuned poorly for up here and it's on a flash or something he can't change.

atari??? OH no you didn't!!! let me get my braids out of my face.

Girl it is on!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just kidding. One day I may even go to the AEM but for the level I am at now I do not see it giving me any gains. And When I go to pass emissions I don't have to worry about not being OBDII compliant

My stock ECU is still in place. I unplug the AEM EMS and plug directly into the ECU. No WOT or aggressive driving, but just fine for emissions / OBDII compliance.
