I expect the duct tape to fail and come off right as I pass you, landing on your window in the form of "the bird". As in F-Off.

Seriously though I'm excited shocking

Is your car NASA certified?? I was under the impression that you needed a cage, fire system, certified clothing etc. etc. to run in a NASA class. Or is this a sort of street class?? Please give details

Dear Rob,

I was under the impression that you "knew stuff". NASA is just an organization, like SCCA. They run all sorts of events from training to full racing.

I signed up for a HPDE (high performance driving event) on the 20th of May 2006 at Miller Motorpark. Cost $215 including a year NASA membership. Standard street car type of track day situation. One of the only open track days on the full track.

FOR SALE: HKS BOV $150

So as an HPDE event, it's not really fender to fender racing. It's more of a training event right??

That is correct. Entry level motorsports. Street cars driven on track with an instructor, or solo depending on experience. Again depending on your experience and what run group you are in passing is allowed in various areas, and with a wave-by.

HPDE is offical talk for "track day". As oppossed to "going racing" which is fender slamming.

All the details you want on NASA ... http://www.nasaproracing.com/

From there you can also link to the rocky mountain NASA group. HPDEs range from 1 to 4. HPDE4 is unrestricted passing and often runs with the race groups. With NASA you can also participate in Time Trials ... which is similar to SCCA Solo1. I think the classing for NASA TT is MUCH better than SCCA.

HPDE 1-4 and TT do not have race like car and driver safety requirements.

Downside of NASA is they tend to run VERY large run groups with lots of cars on track .... traffic, traffic, traffic. That's can be a real bummer on typical smaller tracks. Since they're running the full 4+ mile configuration at MMP, shouldn't be a problem.

So who all is already signed up for the May 20th NASA event??
Jductape
MSMS2k??
RayRaylittledick??
Ben??
Seth??

I've got a friend with a pretty much stock 05 S4 that wants to go, but I think he would learn quickly on the track that his car is much better suited on the Autobahn.

I would really like to, but I don't know if my car will be running then.......

Geee Ben, you really need to get new suppliers.

Rob, my littledick and i don't know if we'll make it. track time is not a priority for me this year though i would like it to be. But if my friend picks up his new car by then and he lets me drive it, there's no way i won't be there.
