The IX has a superior head. Have you happened to look at the stats on the FQ-360 (based on the IX)? Here is one example of what the IX platform can bring, "The peak output of 363lb ft is 8lb ft more than the FQ-400 (based on the VIII) produced and is delivered 2200rpm lower down the rev range."

Now the interior and the front bumper... I don't like them nearly as much as the VIII.

If the performance is that much better; well, then I'd deal with the fugliness. As to warranty!? You're joking right? Every Evo sold should be considered 'as-is' with no warranty.

 

So how much and where can you buy sensors for Defi's link system to hook up to the VSD Concept?

 

I have had good luck with mine being covered under warranty.

Here's more of the sequence of my 'spectacular' off in turn 1 on the east track.


Notice I'm looking to the left towards the wall. My thoughts "holy phvck how far to the wall!?"


180 degrees later and I'm still looking for the wall and thinking "... phvck, phvck, phvck I'm still flying .... where the phvck is the wall ... how much is my liability limit for this again!?"


"Whew ... car is sink'n in the gravel ... I'm not going to hit the wall."


"Oh shhhh###ttttt ... really sunk in the gravel and the right side is deep and all that momentum is lifting the left side .... oh phvck, oh phvck ... don't roll over!"


"... whew, I made it"


"Oh sh#t, what is my instructor going to have to say about this one!?"


Instructor: "Mike, uh .... were you trying something different on that lap?"

 

And just to prove I did spend MOST of the 3 day event on pavement ...








That's me in 2nd right behind the 47. At one point on Sun, we were 4 wide briefly with passing. What a blast!

 

That is rad that you have a full account of that whole thing.

Which class was that? I may look into doing something like that next year.

Skip Barber Formula Dodges

Last weekend was their 3-day racing school. You have to take it to get a competition license to run in their series. They will have their first race event at MMP in Oct. Plenty of time to get to a 3 day racing school.
