K20turbo, get the IX SE. In my opinion it is the best of both worlds. Get the aluminum roof off the RS, HIDs which are only available on the MR or SSL package, BBS forged alloy wheels, etc.
Hi everyone. I know I don't post in here too often but I've been lurking a long time. It looks like my wife got me a set of Swift springs for Christmas. (yeah I know they're not coilovers but I'm not racing either). Anyway, I'm assuming I'll probably need an alignment after i get the springs on. Can anyone give me a recommendation on a good shop for the alignment? I may also consider having them install the springs while they're at it. Any suggestions would be great. Do I even need to worry about an alignment? TIA
I dont think that he installs springs, but I know another guy here in Orem that does, and would be good. Lmk, and i'll shoot you over his info.
Munoa: dont worry, i'm sure next time it will be me spinning!!
I would suggest Sid's Alignment in Springville. Their rack is super low so they will never mess up body work no matter how low your car is. Anthony down there is the best and has been doing our race alignments for two seasons now. You could take it to like big O or some crappy place like that, but I wouldn't take my own car there. Anthony is good and i think his normal price is only like $60, if i'm not mistaken. Sid's number is: 801.489.3253. Ask for Anthony and tell him Erich sent you.

Hey guys, just moved to SLC from DC. I've got an VIII that needs some work over the winter before Miller opens. What are some reputable shops in the area? One of the things I need to take care of is the tranny rebuild so I am looking for a place to pull it and put it back in (I will probably send it to Shepard or TRE for rebuilding). Any recomendations?
That is so dumb that HID's are an option on the IX, didnt all the VIII's come with HID's?
Yes there were standard equipment on the VIII's besides the RS. If you drive at night I would not give up my HID headlights, but maybe the projectors on the RS are good too, not sure.
I think if I had July to do over again I would have waited until the SE IX came out then I could have had the HID's that I wanted, lighter aluminun roof, front LSD, no sunroof, and the mivec engine with evo 9 turbo. I think that combo would have been better for what I wanted in my car then getting Scotts car, oh well.

Yeah i got the samco hoses a while ago - it was kind of an impulse buy. Honestly, they don't make much difference except that they dont baloon. If I was going to do it over I would rather get the upper and lower stainless steel IC pipes.
