No drilling should be required, it should use already existing bolts, just as the Evo one does. On the strut side, it uses two of the bolts that hold the strut bar and strut together. On the engine end, it connects to the engine mount bracket.

There you go... Thanks Otter! And I must say that it's even better if we don't have to drill at all!

Oh, and BTW the fact that it's bolted that low on the engine is much better because the car then retains the same center of gravity on the front... which would not be the case if the dampner was bolted to the top of the engine. The weight of the engine would then be partially transfered to a much higher point on the chassis under high-load cornering...

No problem... and I think I might have convinced myself in the process. I'll probably get one before spring. I can't stand that gear grinding much longer...

Yea seconds a prob with mine too. Hopefully it doesnt make it TOO stiff. I asked him if the stiffness was adjustable, but never got an answer back.

It would be much more expensive to have it be adjustable... maybe a future option though. But he did mention it's gonna be way more comfortable than having urethane motor mounts... and most people with these mounts say that there's more vibration but it's not that bad. So I expect the dampner to be way better in the comfort department... I wouldn't worry about that too much.

The only prob i can see if the same prob my buddy has with his Wrx. He has an engine dampener, the vibration and engine movement has stopped up front, but he has a lot of body vibration through the rest of the car.

i got the mounts and it vibrates quite a bit, very VERY noticable, but its not "annoying" to say the most... but i am probly gonna buy this dampner as well, cuz i still have the problem with the infamous 1st-into-2nd gear even WITH the RRM motormounts... they helped bout 80% the problem, but it still does it every once in a while. think both of them will stop it completly? or just a waste of money w/ the mounts i already got on.

Get rid of the mounts and get the dampener. The 1st to 2nd prob will be fixed (most likely)with the dampener, not by the mounts.

I don't think it gets any stiffer than the mounts!!!? I can't see how the dampener would be any better? Maybe more comfortable since it's basically a shock that is "tuned" to react to large movements as opposed to just normal engine vibration that a solid motor mount would transfer to the cabin.

In my opinion, if I was to get one or the other, I'd get the dampener since it basically works when needed. This is definitely on my list!!!
