SPESHAL, I am pretty sure that the car is with-out leather the more I think about it. When I talked to the GM he said that only one car has leather, that being one of the yellow ones. So that means the black one should be leather free.

Here's hoping! I hear that on the day you may be the one having to drive the Evo home...hehe

Yes that is true! I have read it in a brochure on the euro evo 8 . But i would say it is normal practice for any new car with brakes. When i put new DBA Slotted/cross drilled rotors on my HSV, 500km's is what they told me.

Probably will require you to drive the first 1000kms under 4000rpm too - seems pretty standard with turbo vehicles.

Yep, yep and yep.
At least 1000kms of driving in the safe boost zone. The 4000rpm thing works well on the STI which does bugger all until then anyway. Wouldn't surprise me if the it would be a little lower with the Evo turbo setup.

Brakes always need bedding in. 500kms is good for drive around normally for. The best way to get them in earlier and feel more confident in the stopping is by using bedding in techniques. But nothing beats a good solid bedding in.

I used to love it when I get a new set of pads and/or rotors for my WRX. Many a fu8n afternoon had with a new set of Ferodo DS3000s

I have some pricing on the accessories, only the ones that I have ordered though:
WARNING - They are not cheap but I am determined to keep this car as genuine as possible!! Therefore my justification for spending big!

All prices include GST and fitting

Scuff Plates: $212
Rear Strut Brace: $578
Earth Cabling Kit: $295
Pedals (grey): $104
Brake Cooler: $255
Accent Plate (had one on my WRX and they looked nice ): $267

If you call your dealer they should be able to sort out pricing and the such.

If you doubting the performance of these cars, in the USA they are getting some very quick times on the 1/4 mile from small mods.

IE: 1/4 mile time: 12.57s@107.11 mph

- Ultimate Racing 3" Stainless Steel Turbo-Back Exhaust System
- Ultimate Racing Pre-Programmed HKS Super AFR
- Ultimate Racing Pre-Set Turbo Smart Manual Boost Controller
- K&N High-Flow Panel Filter

Heard from my dealer yesterday that the cars are arriving i victoria on thursday. I still have no idea what colour i'm gonna get (even though i work for the mitsubishi race team on the evo 8) and they said no black cars are coming into VIC for some strange reason. Even though i would never get a black i cant see why they wouldn't have any here.

Welcome along mate.

Which colour did you chose? Did your dealer tell you that your car will be in the coming batch?

Thursday, nice! The upside of sharing a border with NSW. hehe

Regarding the black, maybe no one in Vic ordered a black car, or they were too late if they did. I am sure you have read through this thread, but with such a small amount of cars coming in we are lucky to get close them let alone our chosen colour. Not saying it's right buut that's they way they have played it.

Good luck with it and keep us posted.

News from my dealer today - confirmed silver but alas not leather. Apparently there was not one silver car brought in with leather. What a shame......it looks so nice. Might have to go after market on this. Anyone with views? (in Sydney location please)

At least I'm definitely in now but might have to wait up to ten days for delivery. It will be worth the wait.

Regards

I heard somewhere that you can order the leather seats as an aftermarket option from the dealer. I don't see why not, really is a 10 minute job to swap seats over.

Good to hear yours is on its way!

Remember that our cars are slightly more detuned than the US spec cars. They have the same power but the US spec cars have more torque.

Thanks mate. I would expect to get it early next week. I ordered yellow, white and red in that order of colour preference. At my dealership, 3 people ordered black so there was a demand for them across the state.
Also guys, the cars dont come in with leather seats. They are made and fitted out here in australia.

Im not to sure if that is right. I have been told and i have read that they are fitted in Japan, thats why they are so hard to get a hold of!!! Only 25% are going to be leather!!
