Bridgestone Potenza RE050 as used on the STI

Regarding the leather, they are fitted and shipped from Japan with leather already in them.

MMMMM, very interesting. We have conflicting reports from our sources. Unfortunately I can say no more on this matter but my previous post is what I have been lead to believe.

It would make a lot more sense if they did get fitted here so they can match orders correctly. SO then the question is, why are so many people missing out on leather?

We were told here by the dealers that no one can get leather as an option, although they have done a great job and got a leather fitted car for one of their clients.

Doesn't make much of a diffence how they fit it I suppose, just if they can fulfil orders.

Cheers

$USD

2003:
msrp: $28,987
msrp + destination and handling + cf wing: $30,182
msrp + destination and handling + cf wing + sunroof: $ ?

2004:
msrp: $29,999
msrp + destination and handling: $30,594
msrp + destination and handling + sun/sound/leather: $33,144

Its only 80 odd cars so at the end of the day, as far as MMC is concerned; who cares. It would be better to fill orders on demand. It is being done on some financial basis. For that amount of cars and the amout of interest they aren't to fussed about minot details like this.

Very hard to believe.

I've had this conversation with numerous Mitsu people at the top of the food chain, and all have told me that the cars are imported with the leather already in them. First batch of 30, only 11 with leather.

If I wanted one without leather, I could have had my Evo this Friday. As I want one with leather, I have to wait until it clears the docks in a week's time.

I have a crapload of pics on my computer sent to me by my Dealer Principal of the Eastern Creek track day they had last Monday - several of the cars had leather fitted, and all of those cars are being returned to Japan to be wholesaled there.

PM me who your boss is, and i'll PM you who i've spoken to.

GRRRR, it is hard for them to know exact dates but a rough one is not too hard really....

I suppose at this point in things they just want to limit the amount of calls they get asking the same thing. At least he knows your keen!

Adelaide dealer seems to be getting the idea of customer service.

He has called and advised of delievry date (Monday 5 July) - shame it was not this week but at least the dealer called to advise.

I addition he has confirmed the options ie the blue metal stuff, mats, scuff plates and strutt bar.

Another weekend without the car - still this must mean the Sydney drivers will be getting their cars this week - please your opinions as soon as possible will help this weekend wait here in Adelaide.

I'd also check if that's the actual delivery to YOU date - I have been told by numerous Mitsu people, and one of the Directors of Intellitrac, that there are delays with the alarm components and delivery of them, and thus delivery of the cars, could (potentially) be several weeks away still.

You may be able to pick up the car, sans alarm, but insurance would want to know that and may object. I'll be waiting for the alarm to be 100% finished.

Can you break that down for me? Just so we can see the differences in tax and duties and stuff. But that sounds pretty much what I had worked it out as including all charges here in Perth.

WA breakdown
$61,990
Stamp Duty (6.5%) = $4029.35
Luxury Tax on amount over $55,140 (25%) = $1750 approx
Rego 6 months = $209
Dealer Dilivery = $?

So at least: $67,769.35 for those of us in WA providing my calculations are correct.

Add an extra accessories and then take away your deposit and there will be your rough final figure.

As a note (in wa anyways) Stamp duty and luxury tax is only applied the the Retail Price of the car - not accessories! Yay. SO you can order all the bits you like with out worry of having to pay it later or tax (other than GST) on it.
