Official "I got DynoFlashed!" Thread
Al hooked my car up today. Awesome guy. First he took me out and ran the stock flash with an obdII scanner to show me the timing and how off it becomes over the power band. Next he pluged in his computer and got to work. Soon as that was done we went out for another blast. The difference is as obvious as night and day. Perfectly smooth timing all the way up to 7800rpm and no boost drop off and it was just plain beautiful.
Ive never been so pleased with any 1 mod on any car ive owned. Dynoflash and Big Al are miracle workers.
He also took me out in his love ride. Words cant describe the feeling of that car. So un-f****** believable. Its sick.
Thx Al your the ****.

The world of EVO Tuning has, of course, gotten crowded. I own the only track driven EVO in the area (there's one more, but the owner is a street only driver).
Not much to compare to, but I've seen other track driven EVO's, and the computer modifications vary, of course.
After much debate, and the advice of other Dynoflash customers, I chose Big Al as my computer modifier of choice.
One of the best choices I've made in quite some time. I got the mail in flash for a K&N drop in filter and 93 octane.
The car is MUCH improved in the low RPM's. Before, when below 2,000 RPM's, the motor was certainly lugging. Now, it pulls comfortably (and probably economically) below 2,000 RPM's. The power curve is much smoother.
I'm hopeful later to do some bolt on's and get the full dyno tuning (or even street tuning), but that comes later. For a first step, this is one of the best and cheapest mods I've done.
Excellent customer service, and QUICK turnaround time.
Shawn
P.S. Thanks Big Al

Sent my ECU in to DynoFlash last night and I'll be getting it back tomorrow morning. Great turnaround time AL. Everyone raves about the single best mod and I had to get it done. I have a nearly stock EVO, andlove it the way it drives now... I can't imagine it being much better,... well actually I can. Al kept in great communication with me and I will defanitely talk to him again. Come out to Chicago and I'll show you the best place to hear and see the best real House DJs in the world!
Ken
Thanks Al.

Thanks Al.
i had my ecu tuned by al when he was at agile's garage in md. I loved the results and he hooked me up because i only paid 80 bucks for the full flash cause he said he was feeling good after the one evos dyno pull
. I raced a stock sti the other day and i was wit him all the way head to head
, and i started to pull on him on top end and the only mods i have is a air filter, clutch, and the flash. Thanks al for taking care of me, ill be back for another flash soon

I'm leaning heavily towards DynoFlash as a vendor to provide tuning, but unfortunately being stuck in Lincoln, NE, I think my only option is a mail-in tune.
Right now the only mods I have are a Buschur Intake, and we also are saddled with 91 octane gas.
I believe I've seen in other threads that Fireball 3 is only available if you're running a Walbro fuel pump, but would you recommend this upgrade with a mail-in tune?
If I decide to do a few mods before I get DynoFlashed, what would you recommend as the first few bolt-ons to address? Maybe you have an upgrade path I haven't seen that reflects what you've seen in all the Evos you've tuned.
Thanks In Advance!

Well I got my nearly stock car dynoflashed. Just a RMR intake and gutted stock cat. I didn't really notice a gain in power, if anything I think I might have lost power...? I defanitely noticed that the car pulls much smoother now instead of the 3700 max peak and the drop to ****. The only real test is to do another roll-on with my friend's WRX, which I was dead even with before the flash, to see where I stand. I'm thinking that the ECU might have been tuned for a cat delete pipe and not a gutted cat so I'm gonna buy the ultimate-racing 3" test pipe and see after that. I am impressed though with how nicely rounded the powerband feels, just not satisfied with the lack of it. Great job though Al, I hope you will make it out to Chicago so I can do a real dynoflash tune on a dyno. Later.
Al you tha MAN! The dynoflash rocks!!!
Not only did you provide excellent service and advice, but the tune is great!
I can really feel a difference and that is at 19psi of boost. My only complaint...I now have to watch my tach for shift points because it revs up so much faster now!!! LOL!!!
See you for a custom tune in Dallas.

Got my mail-in flash a couple of days ago.
i am sure alot of people can't decide whether you should get dynoflash or not. well, i was.
now i want to tell you it's worth the money you spend.
first, want to thank you Al for the quick service. not driving my evo for 2.5 days felt like 2.5yrs though. got my ECU on the promised day.
hook up the ECU to the car. temp was about 80degree here in cali with 91 octane.
first, idle seems very smooth and stable. also, my EGT on idle is little bit lower than usual. cold start idle used to be 550-600, hot idle used to be 500. now, it is below 500 all the time.
second, very smooth power band till red line. used to have laggy feelins d/t 3inch turbo back, but now i feel every power on every RPM range.
don't have 3500-5000 rpm sweet spot and 5000-7000 rpm dead zone anymore. power is evenly distributed throughout the rpm.
again, this testing/review is based on just my butt dyno on hot dry day.
overall, i would recommend dynoflash. i am sure custome-tune is the way to go but guy like me on tight budget, could only afford mail-in flash.
downside, i think i am getting really bad gas mileage. maybe i was driving more aggressively after dynoflash.
i will need to check on this.
btw Al, i need to get dynoflash decal!!
let me know when you get'em!
Thanks again to Al for great/quick service.

Ok so i am deffinatley going the Dynoflash way, the only problem is this, in the next couple of months probablly three to four tops, i will be putting in an HKS racing suction intake, an HKS Carbon Ti Exhaust now my question is should i go ahead and send my ECU for a mail in dyno flash to enjoy the gains i am going to get during the 2-4 months it takes me to get these new upgrades, or should i just wait up until i get those items in before i go ahead and get it flashed??? any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated

I just had my EVO Dynoflashed by Al at Pruven yesterday. My car is basically stock. I have had it since the end of March 2003. It currently has 46,000 miles on it. I have always been extremely happy with the way it drove in the past, that is until I had the dynoflash done yesterday. After all was said and done, Al took me for a test drive in my car and I swear it was like they must have switched engines on me because no way could my car be doing this. Not only faster and smoother but no more cutting out after 7,000 rpms. Al not only has a great product, he is also a great guy. If I decide to have some serious mods done to my car, I will have them done at Pruven and let Al reflash me. Great job guys! One very happy customer.
I just got a custom street tune/reflash from Al. I am pleased with the tune for several reasons: 1. Al explained every step of the tuning process as he made the changes. 2. Safety and reliable performance were placed over max HP gains. 3. He didn't rush the tuning process. 4. Al made sure that I was happy with the tune before he completed the tune.
This is the second tune that Al has performed on my car. In the first tune, he realized that there was a problem in the engine and I was losing power. He did make good numbers on the dyno even though he safely tuned around the engine problem. I haven't put the car on a dyno since the second tune and I have not been to the track to see what my car can do yet, however, I did give a friend of mine a ride and he noticed the difference. My friend is also a tuner and knows what a fast car feels like. He was impressed with the power band of the car and the response of the turbo.
This feedback is only for his custom tuning ability. I have not purchased a mail flash from him. I am confident in his ability to give me exactly what I want when he does a custom tune. I would highly reccommend a custom tune on the street or dyno for anyone that has any level of modifications. Al made my mods work together to give lots of power. Dynoflash works. Plain and simple.
