Hey Al, I hear your coming to Tampa, SWEET, we have a bunch of business lined up for you. Bad news for me is that I am supposed to be out of town that weekend, so I might have a friend bring my car by. But in the meantime, I want to get some mods done. Please, Please tell me which intake, exhaust, and boost controller I should go with. I know that your favor Buschur and HKS, but I want to pick mods specifically geared towards you talents. I want to stay simple right now with these mods. So please tell me which ones to use that will maximize power along with your reflash. Thanks, see you in July!

As far as sound on exhaust I am looking for a little louder note than stock, nothing obnoxiously loud though.

Any dealer trouble after Dynoflashing and a few other questions

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had any recent dealer warranty issues when bringing your car in after getting Dynoflashed. Also, Al mentioned free reflashes back to stock before servicing, but would this take as long as a mail-in flash? Is there any portable device put there to quickly switch between a Dynoflash and the stock maps? Finally, can anyone tell me what they are seeing for MPG after being flashed?

Thanks!
-Franc

From our best information - the dealer can not detect the Dyno Flash

There is no way to install a Dyno Flash or go back to stock without sending me the ecu - all reflashes are sent out the same day I get them as long as its not recieved late in the day

The MPG is not effected significantly either way as wlthough we run leaner than stock - we do flow more air than stock and nake more power needing more fuel

We retain the stock 14.6 a/f targets on closed loop

Therefore on gas mileage its a even wash

Do you have a program that leans out the closed loop A/F ratio to yield higher fuel economy and uses the same open loop tuning that you normally would load? I guess that would be the best of both worlds- open loop power and closed loop (city traffic and highway cruising) economy.

Thanks,
Franc

We only provide that feature on custom tuned cars and only upon special request

BTW - my race car is specially tuned to get 34 mpg when cruising from and to the races on pump gas - I like to make as few stops as needed

Is there a place where your custom tuning schedule is posted? When is the next time you''ll be in the tri-state area for custom tuning?

Thanks,
Franc

the low end is woth the price...the rest gravy!

Hey Al Just got it back...its a good fit...the low end torque increase is the most remarkable...no longer feels like a 4 cyl untill 5g...I like...PS its holding 19.5-20 psi to redline...lack of jerkiness in the curve is a blessing too...you did good my man...DJ

No, you won't loose the flash if the battery is disconnected. This question was asked before on some other threads.

What are some 1/4 times using Al's DYNOFLASH? I know there are guys out there with similar mods as mine, see below. What can I expect to be runnning 1/4 wise with the dynoflash added? Thanks

Hey Al, I have a few questions about track use and race gas with the flash. My car is a daily driver but I also plan to drag race it. I currently have an SAFC, Hallman MBC, and Espelir catback. I plan on also getting a downpipe with high flow cat and cat delete for track use, and ARP studs, HKS cams, FMIC, fuel pump, etc later on down the road. I was wondering if you flash my ecu for 93 octane with 20 psi, would it be better for me to keep the SAFC to adjust the tune when I want to run race gas and higher boost at the track? Or will the SAFC not really matter? Do you have anyone who has done this? Did they have to richen up the tune from Dynoflash alot for the race gas/high boost? Thanks

Oh and also, I live about an hour from you so can I just come in person to get the same flash as the "mail in" flash? Thanks

turbodsm, you could get the flash for 93 oct and when racegas is used you can lean out the A/F ratio using the s-afc. that's what most people do when going to the track

After the car gets the base flash you will pick up significant low end trq and smoothness gains across the power band - also depending on your safc settings you may also gain some top end power

This is on pump gas

When you want to run with race fuel we recoemnd taking out 5 - 7 % on the SFAC from 4,000 to red line - AND turn up the boost slightly - that should get you an additional 10 - 15 whp in a safe manner when you are on the track
