Question

I am thinking of having my ECU flashed by DynoFlash. My current mods are 3" HKS Turboback Exhaust, HKS Direct-Drive Racing Intake, Turbo XS BOV, and Turbo XS Manual Boost Controller (not used at the moment). Which type of flash would be my best option? What comes with it? And whats the cost associated with it?

One other question, I take my car back to the dealership for all services and oil changes - is there a way that they can mess up my flash if they hook up to the ECU for any reason?

Thanks for your help!

Well just recieved my ecu from Al yesterday and couldn't wait to install it. I also hooked up the new Hallman boost controller that came with the flash and got rid of my old AMS mbc (for sale if anyone wants it). I was on the fence in terms of what I wanted to do for tuning, and I don't switch parts all that often. I usually add a bunch of stuff at once. Once I started the car and drove it around I noticed that the torque came on much sooner and much smoother. I then made some pulls trying to dial in the new boost controller and at first I was hitting 16 psi and it felt as fast as before at 20psi. I finally got the MBC to hold around 20-21psi and all I can say is that the car is silly fast right now. The topend is awesome, I was running so rich before the flash that the car would fall on its face around 5k rpms, now it just rips past 7.5k rpms no problem. All in all I would give this mod especially for the price. To put the power into perspective I can now peel out if I launch around 4.5k rpms and that is babying it. Around corners the rear tires break loose if I gun it. The car revs through the gears so smooth, it reminds me of a BMW M3.

For those wondering my mods are as follows: APS 3" turboback (catless), AEM intake, HKS 264's, ARP Headstuds, Hallman MBC(20-21psi), Walbro 255, Abusive Wombat ground wires, MR Bov, Dynoflash. I plan on bringing the car to the track in the next week or two. I can only imagine the car will run even better once the weather gets cool and I throw in some 100 octane. I will report my times, I am shooting for low 12's

I went back to Pruven today to get retuned after getting the TT flash and having an issue with it. I will post more details later when I have time, but basically here it is. I baselined with the TT custom tune at 314 whp and 308 ft-lbs of torque. We did 2 baseline runs and that was the higher one. The AFR was at 12.0 until redline when it hit 11.8. Pretty lean. The car also slightly pulled some timing out up top. After Al retuned the car totally, I left there with 335 whp and 328 ft lbs of torque with an AFR of 11.0. Much safer tune, and alot more power. Exact same mods, custom tune vs. custom tune. When I have some more time, I will explain what happend in greater detail. Until then maybe Al can chime in with what he found.

Here is the before and after, and the final result. The second sheet has the smoothing turned off.

Stock ECU Dynoflash

Just got my ECU Dynoflashed and it made big difference!

My car pulls harder all the way to redline and feels like it has much more power.

I had no idea that I could get so much power out of a drop in filter and the flash.
I also had the MR BOV and installed the SS clutch line (no restrictor) before the flash.

The test drive left me shaking in my boots! That is what a big difference it made.

Al, you did a great job on my car and I reccomend it to everyone!

I just dyno-tested my car at Quantum Racing. We did three pulls with different settings of the MBC. The best result was 20.5psi, producing 275hp and 306lb/ft at the wheels. We tried to raise the boost level to 21.8, but the car ran hot and the result wasn't as good.
My engine mods include A'PEXi Power intake, RS-R 3-in downpipe with cat delete, Helix 3-in catback, Aforementioned MBC, and Dynoflash.

I've been very pleased with Dynoflash, not only with the performance gain but also the everyday reliability. Thanks Al!
