edit: oh yea, while I'm not sure bout the hp increase, I definately KNOW that I lost fuel economy I'm not too concerned, but I do know she's drinking it like no tomorrow... kinda expensive

plus 2 questions:
So, since the flash makes her run richer, why do people think it'll be better on fuel?

I was looking on here bout shooting flames, people say that with more fuel and no cat you certainly will... I took video of mine (let me know if you want to see it) and no flames at all. I'm not heartbroken, just wanna know if theres a correlation between having a flash and not flaming (I suppose its nice that I wont get pulled over for it, but it woulda been kinda cool... in my opinion)
i had a cat-back and an intake installed on my car before my reflash and i saw an improvement in MPG... i thought the reflashes leaned the fuel mixture out...

Al???

First off the flash leans the car out some.. The factory tune is pig rich. If you have TBE (w/ no cat) with factory tune you'll see flames. The flash brings the A/F ratios back down to earth and there is less fuel wasted and no flames (or much less). So, yes, fuel economy should go up, unless your running in WOT a lot. My fuel consumption went from average ~270 miles per tank stock, to ~340 with the flash (even with cams).

The fact that you're not seeing flames means the flash is working. As far as HP, I fealt a drastic increase, even with my first flash and no cams. It was a totally different beast, especially in the higher RPM ranges.

Good luck!

all that makes sense, but I know somewhere on here I read that it keeps things safe by keeping alot of fuel in the tune. But I guess it makes alot of sense that since I see no flames I must be running leaner... heh, that still doesnt change the fact that I get worse mpg now anyways, not really a complaint, as I would be an idot to complain of my mpg in my sports car

Hey everyone, i recently got my 2004 evo dynoed on a Mustang Dynamometer AWD dyno. My list of mods are 255 LP Fuel pump, Hallman MBC, Helix HFC and Downpipe, Greddy Titatium Exhaust catback, Aem Intake, Dyno flash through the mail, and boost is set at 20 psi, i also have a HKS Blow off valve. Ok well we did 3 pulls on this dynomometer and my 2 best runs were 235.9 HP and 242.6 Ft-lbs Torque, My second run which was my best was 238.3 HP, and 257.1 Ft-lbs Torque. Im not sure if these numbers are about right or what not, let me know what you think. I am also running 93 octane and its about 20-30 degrees outsite. Theres also no boost leak since my boost gauge reads my car holding 20 psi dropping slightly to 19.5 or so

hmmm... that sounds less than I would like to hear, I've got almost the same setup, but never been to the dyno... was hoping I was much closer to 300 @ the wheels.

Those were your runs on a Mustang? Holy crap, what did you have stock? I did 208 stock on a Mustang with 91 pump gas in ~40 degree weather...meaning you gained 30 hp...

Mine were alot higher than that on a Mustang Dyno on 91 octane at 5000ft above sea level. here's my chart to compare

Hey Dynoflash guys... please help me with my screwed up car... I'm installing new clutch new HKS intake, and 3 inch turob back with no cat or muffler in like 3 weeks and I was gonna send it in for a flash once we got everything tore down. Then problem is that I bought my car used and when I rode in another stock evo it felt so much faster... I then bought a boost gauge and to my suprise I was only making 12 psi with no tapering... the vaccum lines to the turbo and wastegate had been messed with (prob mbc) and were the wrong size and were zip tied on and leaking... I fixed it and it came up to 15-16 psi... then added mbc and was hitting fuel cut at 19 psi and i thought it did 19psi stock... ran fine at 18 psi with mbc though... I just want to get it fixed with mail in flash can u help or give me sum Ideas???

I think it hits fuel cut running a FULL steady stream of 19...that's why it tapers, but maybe I'm horribly mistaken, as usual

Gas mileage varies based upon how much closed loop cruising you do and how much full gas on boost open loop you do
