Depends on the cams, the turbo, the fuel, timing, etc. Some cars respond to more out the top and some dont, but its not possible to say that all cars will make power nor all cars will not make power. My car did/does with the S2s but then again they are not stock. Cossie cars seem to like 2-3*, some other cams like 0 or even -1.2.

It can help make more power and it can help sustain what peak power is already there. Log MIVEC and you will see it doesnt quit I dont like doing things that have no affect, like running 30s in my advance since we know that doesnt do anything anymore...though some tuners still do it.

I remember it being a 2byte thing. I'm going to search 2byte mivec. If I find it i'll post a link.

Does anyone have any updated Cos M2 maps that have been working? I've been reading that the relatively new theory is less advance is better, but I haven't seen any maps showing what they're doing. I don't have access to a dyno to play with. Thanks.

Can anyone that knows say if this will work to log mivec?

<DataListItem DataLog="N" Color="" Display="Mivec" LogReference="MIvec" RequestID="40" RequestID2="11" Eval="76-0.6*x/32" Unit="deg" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="-1.2" GaugeMax="30" ChartMin="-1.2" ChartMax="30" ScalingFactor="1" Notes="" Priority="1" Visible="False" />

I got the values 0x1DE2 (7650) and 0x1DE3 (7651) to put into MUT 40 and 41 in the Mut table.

NVM, doesn't work.

The values are 0x7650 and 0x7651. I think I am going to modify my rocker stopper in my MIVEC gear to get some more range out of it with the tall deck '64 I am doing. I will try to estimate 3.5* and see what we come up with.

The MIVEC looks like either JestR or TTP. The tune looks aggressive for anything other than racegas or E85. The only caveat would be an 05 with stock cams (which this is not obviously) but all in all if its on pumpgas I'd say its too much timing.

Hi John,

Dropping from 35 to 11 after 5k is normal timing setup (0-100load)??

Looks strange to me

Most likely done for stationary rev limit boosting I would guess?

I would agree. That or trying to cure shift knock. Mine usually drop to 16-17* and only from 100% to 180%, then the rest of the map is left as is. The exception of course would be something like an SD map that needs to be done differently. I was thinking about the timing. If the IAT was sufficiently high, your map would look like that since the ECU could be correcting 2-3 for the temps. That would still make it VERY AGGRESSIVE, but would better explain what we are seeing.
