It appears (I'm no pro) as if you are missing the XML definition file. Do you know your ROM ID? If you don't, specifically what model is your evo?

at that point if you click next it should tell you the rom id, you should then download it and then reopen it and you should be good

okay im stumped and cant find the solution, well im sure i could if i scanned through a 100 pages of this thread lol. when using my tactrix cable, i can log in evo scan no problem. but when it comes to ecu flash it acts like it is impossible to make a connection. Im really doing this just to do the rear 02 sensor CEL pass but i cant get it to read the ROM. all it says is unable to connect to vehicle interface. no errors no unknown errors or locked issues. just cant connect... any help? im sure this is easy, hoping for a helpful reply. thanks

Try using ecu unlocker. Just download it and open it and have it running in the background when your try to read your rom. Also when you start to read your rom, have the car running. The car will turn off when you start to read, but this ensures your battery has the max voltage when you try to read.

If that doesn't work, can you copy and paste your log into a post.

Okay I'm still screwed. Cannot retrieve the ROM....
Cable plugged into car and laptop.
Turn car to on but not started.
Start ecu unlocker
Start ecu flash
Retrieve rom
Cannot interact with ecu. What the heck...

Voltage is good. I cannot figure this out. Any ideas. I even tried with car running. No luck.

Which cable are you using? One with two ports into the vehicle?

I recently upgraded my turbo and am now taking a closer look at what evoscan captures while logging. One area that doesn't pass the smell test is the Baro reading. Almost all of my logged baro readings are 96.04 with the occasional drop into the 91 range.

My EVOScan 2.8 baro formula is 0.49*x. Should I be using a different formual and if so what is it? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, sounds like the right one. Do you know the name of the cable you're using? Can you post the log from the read attempt?

Log says.
"using interface OpenPort 1.3 Universal"
"(bunch of gibberish code)"
"interface close"
"unable to connect to vehicle interface"
