How much work would be to remove valet mode and make the alt map accessable via the same process? That way we wouldn't need special harness or wiring instructions.

I really think more people are interested in an alt map than vallet mode. You should switch the config making the vallet mode switch activated and race gas map pedal activated.

Speak for yourself, my Valet mode helps me sleep better at night and when I'm at the mall since I use it as a disabler. Try switching maps while driving with your idea That rev limiter might get annoying, lol. Or every time you are WOT, you're switching between maps like crazy. Tephra thought this through and this layout made all of the options more readily available to the majority of users. If you has ICS, you are in luck. If you don't, you'll pay a few bucks for a feature that would require a STAND-ALONE to do the same thing. Not a bad investment IMO.

Trust me, I'm not making money on these harnesses, especially since I am forking out almost $350 for 7000 EVO IX pins (minimum order allowed) so the community has access to them. Also, I posted the diagram so you guys can do this mod the cheapest way you can with your own resources. I'm only making them to support the evo-m crew (cuz I'm such a nice guy...and handsome...according to my mom )

I guess most of the racers I've been around seem to run pump gas on week days and race gas on weekends. They aren't flip flopping maps on the fly as that doesn't make much sense unless its a safety feature for alchy and even then its over kill.

As for the safety feature aspect of it truth be told if they are in my car, got it running, and are driving it down the street they probably aren't drawing attention to themselves by running it up to 6k RPM. Its a nice option for an actual valet or when dropping the car off to have an alignment but a toggle would work fine for that as well.

I'm not ripping on the cost. I'm just thinking simplicity. I'm willing to pay for an option that doesn't require wire harness hacking or dip switch wiring. The valet mode pedal trick would be an excellent way to switch to a race gas map when you feel spendy at the track or after dumping 5 gallons of 110 in your tank on a Friday night.

Personally I wouldn't use the ICS switch even if I had one. Its too easy to hit that thing or have someone else hit it.

Wire harness hacking? I provide you with a factory ECU pin. If you dont want to get power at the ECU, dont...grab it elsewhere. Saying that the alky failsafe is overkill is plain STUPID. Ask guys who blew their motores cuz their nozzle clogged and their overly aggressive maps detonated their engine to death in a matter of seconds. This is how he set it up and I am pretty certain he's not gonna change it. For someone willing to throw down the money for 110 octane every weekend, you'd think a simple switch concept isn't an issue.

The ISC switch must be held down for a set amount of time, determined by the user. You could set it for 10 full seconds if you wanted. You seem to be trying to find flaws in a setup he's really thought through that appeals to the majority.

Also ask a bunch of users who have their 2 maps setup already. Some use one for fuel economy, the other for power. Some use one for alky kit activated, the other for normal pump gas. Some have a low boost tune and the other is a high boost tune. People are using this for tons of stuff already and most have a use for switching on the fly.

He's got enough work ahead of him trying to make all of these new ROMs so I doubt he's gonna start customizing anything for people just yet. Maybe once he has the entire patch rolled out he will be able to though.

If this is too much for you, you don't need to use the patch if it doesn't fit your needs. It is afterall, freeware.

Ok ok.... cool your jets.... I'm not ripping on anyone.... I'm being selfish and wishing it was a little different than it is.

If the majority of people are truly switching maps on the fly then I won't say another word about it.

lol, no worries man. You have a valid concept but I'm sure he would have rather had the option of the instant, on the fly map switching over a more limited option when he decided how to do it. Plus he probably had to rewrite a ton of code to change it, so he probably didn't feel like it once we found out there was an unused ECU input we could use instead.
