Hi Brad.

I just installed 1.1.0 (on XP), and it failed on startup. "Virtual Dyno has encountered a problem, and needs to close."

Is there anything you'd like me to try?

Did you have a previous version of virtual dyno installed? If so, that needs to be uninstalled first, then install the new version.

After adding the custom log headings, did you restart the program or reload the log? I find that after adding a custom header name, that you have to do one of those two to make it work.

restarted multiple times but i found the prob unlike 1.0.8 . i had to go into the xml and add the evoscan "custom headings" under the evoscan section. very very simple fix. i hope anyone who has this prob finds that useful.

UPDATE
==============

I found the issue causing the problems with some peoples installs. If you had 1.0.7 installed and NEVER uninstalled it. PLEASE go uninstall it in control panel / Programs and Features. The installer that VD was using was install shield and that (piece of junk) has some residual registry entries and files that if you dont uninstall it wont let the new version run.

So if you are getting any issues with the new version not being able to run. I have replicated the issue several times by installing 1.0.7 then 1.0.8 and installing 1.1.0 on top of them. You HAVE to uninstall the old version first.

Thanks,

ok, I had a sniper "xml folder" hiding in my laptop, as I had already uninstalled the program... Deleted that, uninstalled again, reinstalled and no errors, and all seems good, but...

2 things Ive noticed, or was pointed out...

1. my tq isnt showing the ramp up to peak tq, as if its N/A power And also, tq is hitting before peak boost.?.?

2. Now, when I go to load up a log, it isnt finding my "compatibility files" which is where my logs are located (vista)

Hmm, but now I get "E106: E208: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when I:

(1) Pre-select a profile
(2) Load a log.

This is starting to look an awful lot like my day-job!

It all works if I don't pre-select a profile, but manually select it all every time. How I love workarounds.

For some reason, only the "last" profile I set up is selectable and usable. And just one profile doesn't work.

To work around it, I need to set up a dummy profile first, then the proper one after that. And voila, I can select the last (real) profile no worries.

Perhaps my VirtualDyno is possessed...

Dunno if that helps!

sigh ... the profiles xml format has changed so I pushed your old profiles (that wont work) to a seperate file (profiles.xml.old) in the installation directory. This was because I wasnt going to be mean and just delete your profiles. Tuners would start showing up at my door. I have tested the profile editor over and over and it isnt giving me any problems. If you can recreate a problem PLEASE send me a message detailing how. I am committed to fixing these problems but I need to know how to replicate them so I can.

Thanks,
