Sad to say but I don't think the numbers game will be squashed until some of the regular shops that post results on here posts up a plot.

I'm no expert but I have never heard of a dynapak giving anything but higher results then a DJ, DD or MD.

Either way I'm sure the car is a blast to drive. This thread is super informative and interesting to say the least.

Did everyone miss where I posted up stock EVO X dyno charts? Isnt that common enough currency to do a conversion? What do stock Xs do on other dynos? When do they spool up on other dynos? Maybe since all the drag cars run faster east of the continental divide... God gave us poor slobs on the west coast better spoolup? Kind of like how we got 91 octane and smog rules but we get all the pretty girls and sunshine.

We tune cars using 2 seconds per 1000 rpm as a runtime. The finished dyno sheet gets printed off that. I didnt know I needed a separate show chart. Do you guys have rules somewhere for all the correct parameters to test under? Being an irregular shop makes me sad :-( What is the correct run time for a show chart once the car is tuned?

speak for your self fellow west coaster. We get 92 octane, sea level, and great ambient temps here in Washington.

If you live outside a smog region in Washington you don't even have to take your car to an emissions station.... EVER!

I love Washington

Mike,
I think some people just like to argue for the sake of arguing.

Seems pretty normal for an X spoolup to me...here is my stock tune on my x on a DD dyno.

You know how it goes on this forum. Every sheet gets picked apart regardless of whether it was on a Mustang dyno, Dynapak, Dyno Dynamics, Virtual dyno, or your grandmothers treadmill. You will never make everyone happy regardless of how much data you provide and how easy it is to see the comparison. Hell, the 10+ overlays against other cars on the same dyno with the same run parameters was plenty for me.

For this turbo setup in particular its going to be picked on because there was/is so much hype about the EFR turbos. I think there's a ton of good information in this thread, and more than enough to make me lust after the setup. In a way though it doesn't matter because they are still back ordered so nobody can get them anyway.

So what you're saying is.. the EFR is like a hot chick. Everyone wants them, but few can attain them.

To be 100% honest i feel VD is an amazing comparison tool when used properly. It takes all the dyno BS out of the equation and does it in realtime on the street where our cars are drivin.
I think a loaded dyno like yours is one of the best 'tuning' tools and wish i had access to one , sorry if i worked you up that wasnt my intent .

That car would be impounded so quick if i drove it on the "streets". RRE is located in the Republic of California....no way... Plus who really wants do drive a car with Super loud brakes and no AC... Its hard enough at the track

Really...

You want to say VD is better for comparison testing then a dyno that consistently has the same operator who is straight up and looking for results and not BS demonstrations?

I think the info Mike W posted is rock solid info. Take it how you will.

What I found interesting is how the stock motor car spooled a 6262 700rpm faster than a built 2.0 spooled an HTA86. I have always figured a 6262 to be much lazier than the hta86 due to the stock 35r turbine wheel vs the 62. 4500 for full boost on a stock motor is badass and the power is on par comsidering it was only about 200hp down with 12psi less boost. I would love to see a 3rd or 4th gear awd dynojet pull. The EFR looks "too good to be true".

I'm satisfied based on the comparisons posted. For the amount of boost its running it looks really strong although TQ takes a massive fall which kinda looks like a stock turbo at 5500 ft. But that is probably your inferior HKS 280's.

But for the record I don't like how dynapack scales the graphs to make them look all "weird".

Republic of California... imagine the face if you got a hood pop though. "No sir, its um... totally stock!"
