I wouldn't worry about changing it then.

 

Took the car to the track at 663 WHP 35psi and pretty low timing yet.

It smokes a bit, working on a solution. Car went 10.3 @ 140. I weighed 3220 on the scales. I'm fat. 1.6X 60 ft

Gonna turn it up and add some timing in up top. Raise the limiter and see how she does at shootout.

Such a huge shame that the FP-cored turbos all seem to be so plagued by oil issues - assuming that this is the likely cause of the smoking on yours? I really want to love their turbos, especially the new Xona Rotors but if this is yet another smoky FP unit then it's not looking good. Please put me right if I'm wrong on this, and I'll edit out that comment.

 

+1. Hardly a bolt on turbo when you have to run them on Unicorn blood and extravagant breather systems so they don't push oil out their ****

 

i run just the old buschur catch can, with the stock pcv valve and ports.. i have an fp red pushing 633 on c16... zero blow by, zero smoke. only thing i have different then most is the ER oil gear.

 

zona center section on the red? plain bearing? what pistons are you running?

 

Im not exactly sure what center section is on my red honestly, it was right between when they were changing everything. and then my motor blew up and it got sent back from inspection, it was fine..

do the numbers on it tell you anything?


Weiso 1400HD 9:1 comp

 

She is going 9s, added roughly 50whp from the 10.3 140mph pass. Pulls clean now too, swapped the plugs to a protruded and dropped the gap down.

 

I made 815whp on the FP ZERO in 3rd. This turbo should be able to make 840-850whp on a maxed out setup, or more. Hell, I could have made that in 4th and it wasn't even falling off at 8500. It was a power house. However, Robert forced me to run a few restrictive parts when I tested the FP ZERO for him so I wasn't able to max it out. Actually, the new FP SS hotside design was a better copy of what I was running on my FP Black since 2010 when I made 748whp on the Black. It wasn't Robert's design however, Robert liked it and built it for the ZERO in SS. My hotside was ported out to be a single scroll 10.5. Sadly the ZERO I tested, didn't survive the weekend but was a riot. I had the first FP ZERO back in Nov 2012 and many people saw the results and never new it was a ZERO

Went 10.0 @ 144 over the weekend. I won the stock appearing class with the car. Car weighed the same as before.

Just finished my ER 2.2 build with the FP Zero. Break in is done just waiting until next week for dyno/tune! Awesome numbers man!
