Nope. I believe it was always 68mm exducer on the compressor, just like stock, just like a 20g. The inducer is a smidge different than a 20g, just so it isn't a 20g. Any results on a FP71hta can be compared to a stock turbo with a 20g compressor wheel and cover smacked on it. I am not trying to be negative because I run a 20g but with a 9 blade turbine td05, and I wouldn't swap it for anything.

It's actually amazing what results have been aquired through the stock 12 blade tiny turbine!

I just saw that FP didn't put 71hta on Black Friday sale. Instead, they raised price to $999!
Guess I'll be selling mine sooner than later since I'll be upgrading to a custom built 20G Green soon.

Holy crap. It's no longer a value. Now may as well go Green. I remember when it was $699. That was one hell of a deal, back then. With the increase, I'd no longer be interested. I was on the fence @ $799
I wonder if it's a typo.

with 2.3, I'd think a Black fits better.

But a Red would be super responsive and fun. The hit from the torque curve would be cray Cray.

I have a 25G from turbolabs which works great but my low 91 octane is making me want to go back to an hta71 made 430 whp 480 tq on my car vs 505 whp 450 tq.

However this price hike I might as well keep my turbo unless someone wants to trade. Turbolabs makes a good product turbo are way more reliable than fp unit and still mhi but their service is terrible.

430whp on 71hta and 91? What engine are you running?

Well this is a little misleading. My engine is a 2.3L with Kelford 276 High Lift cams. These cams are more aggressive than even R2. Have curt brown everything ported and do cheat a little when I fill the car up I put a can of torco in it to cheat to make sure the octane is happy. If I ran full ignite E85 I could prob hit 470ish whp I bet but on Q16 on the other turbo she hit 620 whp. I never did race gas or ignite E85 on the HTA71. My car had that V8 feel full torque around 3600 3800 RPM.

Tyler has been teaching me a lot about turbos and the 25G wheel doesn't live up to it's name (25G will make boost, but somehow, power hits a wall). You can make more power with a smaller Black wheel. Even a Red wheel will make more power and that wheelis quite smaller. Talk to Tyler (EvoIX89) about switching to a Black wheel and cover (assuming you have TD06HR turbine wheel).

Wheel sizes aren't everything. Once you get to a certain point in wheel size you hit a point of diminishing returns if you stay with the same A/R housing like stock frame stuff does regardless of putting larger wheels in.

The housing can only flow so much before becoming extremely restrictive. This is why exhaust back pressure is an important thing to look at when you're using a small A/R housing.

It's also part of why FP doesn't make zero or zephyr MHI stuff. The turbine is too big to be effective over the one they use in the green/red/black.
