All 71hta comes with FAP. Definitely get cams before you get tuned. GSC S2 cams net about 30whp with the 71hta. Make sure to upgrade valve springs too (5040 or 5041).

Mine didn't come with a FAP but it was purchased several years ago.

Yes, FAP used to be an option, but it's been standard since at least 2017 when I bought mine.

Just got mine in the mail today! Now I gotta wait for a day off to throw it on there. Did you guys prime yours by pulling CAS and spark plugs, then turning over a few times?

No need to pull the plugs just unplug the CAS and injectors wont fire. Something like 30 seconds on cranking should be more than enough.

Revisiting...

I'm at 430whp with S1s.

I think it's time to swap in S2s.

That's great! I'm gonna run 29 or 30. I dont track and only boost hard every once in a while, so I'm going big. What is your timing advance up top like?

I'll have to go back and look... I'm exhausted for tonight. .. been going since 0530!. LOL. Jay wants to bump it up to see what it will do, just for fun. Then I'll bring it back down for track days. My first pull peaked at 30psi and, even without timing worked out, it was really fun.
This is THE best turbo for the Evo VIII/IX, IMO. Anything smaller is pointless and anything larger takes away what makes the car so great. FP hit the nail on the head with this one.

Nah. Same place, different coupling. I have couplings for both covers.
