Any coincedence that I have an IX, and you both have an viii? Perhaps the systems are integrated slightly different.

they're not different. if you simply remove the unit(or just unplug the connector from it) it will absolutely turn on the srs light. your bulb might have conveniently blown at the same time or something weird like that.

Oh there is more.. I am going to remove approximately 4 feet of section on the engine harness that has 41 leads on it that in itself is probably another couple pounds of weight. Amphenol connectors are my next purchase for this project.

No way in hell I will be doing anything to my harness till my motor & dash are out of my car, haha. I see myself getting way to fired up while doing it. Collin's harness came out great, I will eventually do that...

We were amazed at how little wiring is truly required to run Tylers Drag Evo. We must have removed 20lbs total with wiring and fuse boxes removed. We were down to a handful of fuses and like 3 relays lol. It was an easy 30+ hours of work. It would have been half as long to just create our own harness at that point haha.

There are a few places that you can go to , off the bat, Toxicfab and Chasebays, will sell you a "kit" for the connectors.

Raychem can be purchased on most automotive race sites. Expect to pay alot for this.. some of the transistions are expensive for what they are.

My advice to you is learn about the Connectors and Tools required to put them together. That seemed to help me considerably

Oh if my car was a full on race car..I wouldn't waste my time with the stock harness. Definitely would start from scratch.
this is what I did with my race car

Honestly I MIGHT and this is a BIG might, go to circuit breakers versus fuses.. that way I can dump those fuse box assemblies too.

my amphenol connectors should be arriving tomorrow, so time to "hack" up this harness even more.. There are 5 circuits, that go the rear of the car, that are not required anymore, so probably a good pound or so of wire.
