Wait 80lbs holy crap man. That is huge.

I really dig the quick release bumper. I hate removing this thing.

I don't know for sure, but it's definitely heavy. Most-wanted in his "IX RS build" thread reported 80#'s. We will see once it get it scaled. I think his reports were with headlights eliminated as well... im thinking like #50-60.

Yes quick release is the ****... just the quick release mounting points on the side holds the bumper really good. I don't even bother bolting it to the upper radiator support. 2 second bumper removals ftw!

Did you do anything to help support the hood latch and where the fmic mounts. I dont see any vertical support in the pics. I wouldnt think the upper radiator support is very strong. Id like to see more detailed pics!

Yes, the center piece that the hood latch bolts to that is connected to the upper radiator support is welded to the lower tubular support we made. The latch and FMIC still bolts to this like OEM. There is also a lower radiator bracket that we made using the factory OEM rubber piece that the radiator sits in. The only vertical support is the one in the center that the latch and FMIC uses. It is plenty support for the upper radiator support.

I will post up some more pictures once I coat it!

Haha, I see a lot of people searching for those quick release buttons after we released the bumper latch kits...

Also added a diy quick release for the front bumper. (Same concept as the toxic fab kit) (No weight savings here... lol sorry Dan)

Looks good, we did something similar to my buddies colt with the lower core support but we used dzus fastners instead to attach the bumper. Ive always wanted to cut the core support out but I hate to cut my car up at this point in its life, maybe one day. Yours looks good though!

any side effects from cutting up the front support and replacing it with tubular set up? I mean handling and rigidity.

Sick stuff!!!!

Can't wait to get my car on the scales and see how much all my time payed off. Car is pretty much gutted but looks stock. Will be interesting to see how light a stock looking car can weigh.
